@CanAmBride: You really wouldn't know when to POAS. My first cycle off of BC was 49 days, then 42, then 37, then 32. I didn't know anything about when I was ovulating until I started charting, to be honest. I've heard of people's cycles regulating immediately and others who have 60+ day cycles after coming off BC. It's not a guarantee that you'll ovulate at all while regulating.
I know you said that you don't want to chart, but that was the only way I knew what was going on with my body. Maybe someone else will have another suggestion? Good luck!
I asked my doctor this before I started TTC and this is what she said: Take a hpt once a week starting at CD 30 until you get your period. If you get to CD 60 without a positive test or a period, call your doctor.
@CanAmBride: good luck! i am in the same position and SHOULD start next week (if i have a perfect 28 day cycle). fingers crossed! we are staying away from charting as well. if we dont get a bfp in about 6 months, we will probably start to be more dilligent!
I guess if we dont get at + two or three days after my expected (28 day) AF date, then I will test??
@septcabride: oooh good to know - thanks! that means that i COULD be testing next wednesday - crazy!
@septcabride: Great advice!
I had always pictured myself taking my first pregnancy test after I missed my period (and getting a positive), but I guess that fantasy will probably have to fly out the window...

If you've gone off BC and you're not regulated yet, how do you know when to POAS?? Do you just do it every so often "just in case"?
I feel dumb for asking, but I'm not planning on charting...etc for at least the first few months because DH and I don't want to put too much pressure on ourselves, but it just occurred to me that I might not know that I'm 'late' because I don't know when to expect it in the first place....
