I have a stupid one that I'm terrified about. My RSVP cards. I don't know if I want to use ivory or silver paper (the silver matches the STDs, the ivory came with the box o' invites). How do I word it? What do I do to make it look less like a piece of paper? Can I just direct people to email their RSVPs and save me $0.44 in postage?
See - dumb. Probably the easiest project ever, but I've backed myself into an RSVP-crafting-coma!
And I get to make two different versions (doubly screwed!). Because 30 guests are invited to the ceremony and reception, and 200 are just invited to the reception.
I *was* afraid to do mine own invitations..I have no problem coming up with stuff for other people, but myself? geez!! I am going to be attempting them in the near future..
I am totally afraid of making my own cupcake tree..I don't know if I have the patience to do it, and I'm worried it's going to cost too much..and I don't think I have the skills. I saw some great ones that people have done on here, and they totally inspire me, but I am too nervous!
hahahah @helstrong I FEEL THE SAME WAY! I'm not the best DIY'er and I'm afraid that anything I try out will look terrrrrible.
I want to use small bird figurines on our short centerpieces. The cheapest I found were 4 for $6 online but my sister told me that she saw some at Dollar Tree so I am crossing my fingers that when I go tonight, they are what I am looking for. I want to spray paint them an ivory/beige color and then hand paint the lyrics to our song all over them. I don't exactly know where I got this idea from, so I'm wondering if it'll even work. Wish me luck!

It's not so much that I'm afraid to try as that I don't have a place to put this at our wedding. :S
I'm completely at a loss as to DIY-ing my invites. I have no idea what I want them to look like and well to be honest FI doesn't give a flying -beep!- about it.
CENTERPIECES FOR SURE! I know it'd save me so much money (or would it?) but I'm waaaay too afraid to try em! Do I really sit in my reception hall the morning of my wedding arranging florals? I wouldn't even know where to start haha
My flower girl wands! I was in Hobby Lobby today and just COULD NOT buy the supplies to do it. I'm terrified.
dyeing my silk flowers I purchased the other day...too friggen afraid, but Id promised myself I would give it a go today... 12.30pm here, ive been procrastinating..
Stringing together my paper cranes... it's just going to be so TEDIOUS!
@elaineathon-- I strung together about 400 paper cranes in just an afternoon. Like you, I was putting off the task because it seemed so overwhelming, and then was surprised by how quickly it went. The secret weapon for me (which I found online) was to use baby yarn. It doesn't tangle like fishing line, which I tried first. Good luck! :)
@Vonnegurl: I love that rock candy chandelier! So pretty! Maybe you could use it at a shower?
All of them. Haha.
DIY Veil - I'm afraid it'll come out way too poufy - '90's style lol
Any tips from those who've done it?
Invites!! I have an idea in my head but when I go to craft stores I totally change my mind...like a million times!
Also the thought of making 100+ invites instantly my head starts spinning.
@Jordynrose-- That's a good idea! I'll definitely need to try to make it at some point. Pretty and made of candy, doesn't get much better!
Oh wow, thanks Vonnegurl! Baby yarn? Would you have to do it in colors then? And what did you use to space them out so they don't fall down to the bottom of the string?
I bought the supplies for my wands! I brought one of my best friends with me, and the guy at Joann's scanned every single coupon the page so I got 10$ off my 42 dollar purchase! AH ha ha ha ha. Now I actually have to make them.
@elaineathon-- I had a light shade of pink baby weight yarn on hand and it went fine with our wedding colors. Let me see if I can break this down.
1) Cut a really long piece of baby weight yarn and find the midpoint to knot the top into a loop (that way it is easier to hang...ours are hanging from clothing hangers atm). This also divides your one piece of yarn into two sides.
2) String one side of the yarn at a time.
3) Use a knitting/embroidery needle, gently make a hole in the top of the crane back (where the folds crease in the center) and push the needle down through the crane belly, out through the hole that already exists below the crane belly. (*it takes an extra second, but I usually made the hole on the top of the back by poking the needle from the bottom of the belly up through the top, and then taking the needle out to thread it properly, from the back down through to the belly. Then the back didn't get as deflated.)
4) Pull the yarn through this hole until the crane is up near the top loop where this side of the yarn starts. When it is where you'd like it to stay when hanging, tie a single knot below it to keep it in place.
5) Continue steps 3-4 until the entire side of the yarn is full.
6) Then do the other side of the yarn below the loop the same way.

Let me know if it would be helpful to see other pictures or if any of those directions aren't making sense!
Thanks so much, Vonnegurl!! That sounds easy enough. But I'm confused - if there are two sides of the yarn, won't the cranes on each string be touching one another when you let it hang straight down?
@elaineathon-- Good point! They do. We are hanging ours from high tree branches, so we will use the boughs to separate the cranes. I divided it so only half as many strings would need to be hung. But if the place you are hanging them from is more accessible definitely just do single strings.
DIYing invites, flower arrangements, and food all more or less terrify me. And I will probably end up doing all three. Sigh. Go figure.
I tend to feel wary about DIY projects until I actually have all the materials assembled. From there, I can handle it; I adopt a just-do-it attitude. On the way there, though, I waffle a lot about the best materials for the look and functionality and of course price, and all the choices can get overwhelming, especially when I know I don't want to waste money on materials I might later decide against.
I'm terrified of my DIY invites. I was suppose to get them printed, but STUPID ME, I bought all the paper and cut it, and the printer told me he can't thermograph of the paper. It's too absorbent. So, I'm going to gocco and emboss them. I'm tackling this later this week so I'll let you know how it goes!
(PS, you CANNOT use watercolor paper for thermograph.)
Also terrified of my DIY flowers, but I figured that my lack of skills will be masked by lots and lots of pretty flowers...right?
My Save-the-Dates. I want to make these, but I have no idea where to start!!

I'm totally NOT a DIY'er and I'm terrified of trying to make the wedding card box.
Anyone want to steer me in the right direction to try to format those timeline STDs?? pretty please?
I really want to DIY my dress. I am a craft-freak, so there is nothing I am afraid to do, except for this. I just don't want to spend $200 on fabric, only to end up screwing up and buying a dress anyway.
Here's a DIY Vera Wang Inspired gown a girl on craftster did.
