    Hi ladies! I'm going dress shopping for the second time on Saturday. My wedding is in February so I'm cutting it close!

    I really don't want to do a strapless gown and yet that is 99% of what I see! So please post your non-strapless gowns here. Especially off-shoulder and v-necks!  Thanks, and let's see what beauties and unique gowns there are out there.

    *I should mention, please say the name/style of your gown if possible :)

    This dress can be either strapless or with cap-sleeves and I am using the cap-sleeves. I think they are very cute. This dress is Alfred Angelo 1193 :)

    Mine has straps that snap on or off, but I'm not sure whether I'm going to wear them or not....  And the way I am with decision-making, I probably won't decide until 10 minutes before I walk down the aisle!  Tongue out

    Mine is Mikaella Bridal  and I've forgotten the exact style number--I think 1367 or something along those lines.

    here is mine. i also wanted a V-neck but in the end I fell in love with a scoop-neck... Try them all when you go shopping. Oh! and it's a Paloma Blanca (some older model)

    I had the same problem with not wanting a strapless gown. It is SO frustrating!

    I ended up getting the Maggie Sottero Aurelie gown with the cap sleeves, but I really don't like the cap sleeves. They look like straps, and I wanted real sleeves. So, I ordered just the jacket to the Alfred Angelo dress 2010J and I plan to pair the two together. It won't let me post my picture, but you can see it here http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/iciaetyne/?action=view&current=DressJacket.jpg .I did a rough sketch throwing the two together to see what it would look like.

     

    I also liked the Demetrios dress 2813, but couldn't find one anywhere to try on.

    Here's mine.  I think it's Alfred Angelo (that's what the shoulder straps say), but I bought it on consignment and the tags were ripped out.  I"m not sure otherwise.

    ErinMarguerite, I am also wearing the Mikaella 1367! I decided at the very beginning of wedding dress shopping that I did not want a strapless dress...everyone seems to be wearing one these days.

    Pronovias has some gorgeous non-strapless dresses. It's not mine (and probably never will be...*sighs*) but I've been drooling over this dress since the 2010 collections went online.

    It's a discontinued claire pettibone, but maybe it will help with inspiration (but the straps are so skinny, I'm not sure it even counts as strapless!). I'm posting a picture of the front and back because the back is my favorite part of the dress : )

    My dress actually came with lace cap sleeves that I chose not to order. When I walked in the bridal store I said I don't want a strapless.  I wore a strapless for my first wedding and by the end of the night my $4,000 dress had makeup stains on the top sides of my dress from where I touched my face and then would yank up my dress not even really realizing I was doing it.

    Well low and behold I walked out of the dress shop with a strapless AGAIN. I just went for my bustle fitting and they found some straps from another Maggie dress "Gastby" and now my dress will be a halter. My girls are pretty big so I would rather have a halter that holds them up so I don't have to continue yanking!

    What a great thread! I am so over strapless, I've SWORN I won't have one. It seems like the default for wedding dresses at the moment, but honestly I think they only suit a much smaller proportion than the proportion who choose to wear them. It got to the point where NON-strapless bridal gowns started looking odd to me :P
