Well, Seattle went from 60 degrees on the 4th of July to 92 degrees today. It's hot!
Ceci and I are sitting in front of a homemade swamp cooler (ice and a fan) and trying to stay cool.
Oh, and we're also getting ready for our big move to Salt Lake City.
What are you up to?
OMG! I'm actually here for a post-a-thon this time! I'm "studying" right now. Really, I just got back from taking the dog out for a walk and am about to clean the kitchen before Mr. S gets home to make dinner.

Yeah, in addition to having a baby, we had to buy a new house and get ready to move.
When I was about 12 weeks pregnant, I scored a new job in SLC. We're looking forward to it all, but it does seem like a lot at times.
So far, everything is going smoothly...
I am waiting for a phone call that was scheduled between 3 and 5pm. Meanwhile, I am searching the web to see what I can do with the chicken breasts that has been thawing in my fridge since yesterday. It's looking like chicken pesto pasta tonight.
Mm, that sounds yummy. I think we will be having leftover cottage pie. :)
We're doing leftovers too, so that I can hang out here :) Too hot to cook anyway!
@Mrs. DG: It seems to be hot everywhere except where I am. I live in north San Diego and it has been cloudy and gray all day.
@spaniel: I had to look up Cottage Pie and didn't realize that's what they are called. I make those all the time too. It is one of my favorites! :)

Oh my gosh it's hot as all get out here in Toronto!!! It's like a million degrees outside. The cats are REALLY mad at me because I haven't let them out on the back deck in 3 days because of the humidity.
@baldor1:Mine too! It's funny because I rarely eat meat, but it's one of my favorites, even though you couldn't get a more meat + potatoes kind of meal. ;)
i am waiting for my guy to get home because he has a gig tonight at Marble.... oh and i am also wathcing The Dog Whisperer (i so love him).. we got into this show cuz my dog Charlie is kinda crazy sometimes.... Oh and today was my friday!!!
It's hot everywhere except Los Angeles, I think... this time last year was about 110 degrees in my apartment (we just moved in; it was like an oven). It's been surprisingly mild for the last few weeks!
Can anyone think of good processional/recessional songs that could be played by a jazz trio without a singer? I want something recognizable and something upbeat :)
@jduck84 yeah he is a bass player. He plays in a group that is kinda jazzy/rockish (?!) and also in a group that just does jazz... they are pretty awesome....
@pepsodiny: nice! I love bass players. Well, you know what I mean. That's such a cool thing to know how to play. :)
@baldor1: We've definitely paid our dues for this weather. Our 4th of July was so grey and cold... Then we thought surely the 5th would be nice... No such luck! The weather held out for the work week and then got hot!
Hey bee's! I just got back from a swim at my parents house the water was 86!
Yay - - - I am here and we aren't on the second page of posts just yet, lol

I wish! I bought a house around the corner from my parents it works out really well on days like we have this week less then 1 min to go swimming and floating for the pup!
It's hot in Portland OR too but only until tomorrow, then it goes back to the 80's whew!
Ive never been on for one of these before is there a way to make it so i dont have to scroll everytime i refresh?
@mishelleez: When we were house hunting I swore up and down I'd never want a pool after watching how much maintenance goes into my parents. Now that we're in a house I want nothing more than a pool, LOL! We have a river in our backyard, but it's really gross and I would never swim in it. I wish it were cleaner!
@mishelleez: I usually keep the chat thread open in a seperate tab and my browser stays at the same spot when it refreshes.

I just got home and am still uploading pictures and videos from the wedding that family memebers (who arn't hype with flickr haha) keep emailing me :) everytime is like a mini Christmas! One friend even took pics of all the little details which made me happy...waiting for the photos and videos is hard!
@Sulli301: Yay for all the pictures! We didn't get a ton of family pictures sadly.
@bakerella: When we bought this house it had a pool and we gave it away because I didnt wanna deal with it and they (the rents) had one!
@jduck84 i know what you mean.... it is so cool watching him play. and also the rest of the guys. one of their guys (drummer) gets so into it it is amazing. and his other friend plays guitat and classical guitar AND HE SAID HE'D PLAY FOR OUR CEREMONY.... FOR FREE (as his gift). I'm so excited.
@mishelleez: We're going to renovate next summer (yikes!!!) and FI desperately wants a hot tub. Something tells me that on hot days like today I'm totally jumping in without turning the heat on ;)

How are you all? I'm very well - just hungry (I know, shocking, right?). Today I have good cause though, I started a new diet...Fat Flush Plan. No carbs, sugar, caffeine or dairy for 2 weeks.

All is chill on this end. It is warm here but where I am there is a steady breeze. Its not humid at all and I quite enjoy it actually. My dress arrives this month, FINALLY. I cannot wait until my fitting. I hope then this whole planning process really begins to sink in and feel real. I mean it has felt real but I want to see something for my money now, haahaahaa
@MissAsB: I'm HOT. And excited to leave for vacation this weekend. We're going to spend a few days at the boy's parents' lake house in rural Indiana and then we're spending a few days with his brothers and their wives in Chicago.
