As long as there is a personal note included on the postcard, it's perfectly polite.
I did send photo Thank Yous- I didn't do post cards (I considered it)- from Vista Print. It was pretty reasonably priced.
Just keep in mind that sometimes postcards get beat up in the mail, so your guests may not be getting a pristine photo.
I agree with Rosy. I have gotten numerous post card thank you notes and thought they were very cute!
I think this is a great idea! It'll be a nice memento and I'm sure people will appreciate the thank-you no matter the form!
I think they are a good idea. My SIL did them for their wedding and people enjoyed getting the pictures. She had personal notes to all.
We also had another friend do one that just said Thank You, Love Jane and John. No personal note. I would do one with a note.
I did my STDs on vistaprint. Choose the postcards. For 250 with envelopes, tax and shipping I got them for 97 bucks! Very cheap and easy to make and the quality was really good.
I've seen so many done and they look great, not at all tacky!! I'm actually doing the same thing, but of course leaving a personal thank you on the back side!
I love that - and I have seen it done - and no it's not tacky!
Why would that be tacky? I think it's cute. There's no etiquette rule that states your written thank you notes have to come in an envelope.
I think it's a great idea and one that I was thinking of doing myself. But, like rosy said--postcards do get roughed up in the mail so it's just something to think about. However, I really like the idea as long as you put something personal on the back!
Thanks everybody! I'm definately putting in on the 'don't forget to do this' list!
I am actually doing this myself. The front of the postcard will look like the attached and then I will write a personal note on the back... Definitely not tacky!
I like the idea too! I think as long as it personalized and well crafted, its a great thing to do.
I've gotten some of these before, and thought it was cute. One card that we got did get pretty beaten up in the mail though - it actually was ripped on the corner. :(Luckily it was for a work colleague couple that we don't really know that well, not a close friend).

I saw a post about DIY Thank You notes and thought... I wonder if it would be tacky to have Post Cards Made with a picture from the wedding with "Thank You" text printed on it. Write a little thank you on post card and send it off-- much like many do for STDs.
My thinking behind it is, they get a picture from the wedding and a thank you note all in one, you save money not having to buy thank you cards and pictures to include, and people may actually like having the photo to hold onto-
Am I crazy? Would this be tacky?
