1 day after we go ring shopping I find it necessary to have a crying melt down about how I’m freaking out and don’t want to wait and feel like I need to be more involved in the decision. THEN to top it off I compared us to my friend who got a ring almost three years ago and broke up with his SO about a month ago..my SO did not like that.
<– kicking self for being irrational. I blame the holiday stress

Hey the holidays ARE stressful. There are so many expectations to be met and family drama and shopping anxiety, and that’s without even considering the fact that there might be pre-engagement stress as well! It happens to the best of us. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Holidays are stressful enough, but when you add in waiting it’s a pure nightmare!!! I call that stage ‘Limbo’ where you’re planning on getting married, you’ve both agreed to it (basically, despite the ring and proposal situation) but you just can’t DO anything yet!! I feel for ya sweetie, but thankfully you went ring shopping which means it is coming!! Try not to stress about it, the more you think (overthink, rethink, dwell, obsess, etc.) the more likely you’ll be to ruin it for yourself. Try to enjoy life as it is, and ‘forget’ that a proposal is coming. It’ll be worth it in the end, I promise

We all have our weak moments. He’s ring shopping so it’ll be coming soon!

@mcklough: I had almost an identical experience and it was so stressful to both me and the SO. Take everything one day at a time. Remind yourself as much as you can that your SO is worth the wait (as agonizing as the wait is). I also had a heart-to-heart with my SO when we were both in the “right mood” just to be sure he knew I wasn’t freaking out AT him. Being a girl can be tough! Hang in there and do your best to keep smiling 🙂 (And, keep your girlfriends close, because they are lifesavers!)

it might be good if I had some girlfriends, haha. My one friend who was the one that helped me with this stuff broke up with SO this summer so she’s not quite as patient and interested in it anymore.
Most of my friends are guys, and I don’t even have many of those. That’s where the Bees are coming in!
