So, I’m currently living in Germany, and was DIYing my invitations… Gave myself plenty of time to make them, knowing I would have to ship them over to my parents in Canada to be stamped and then mailed out (I had to send them all in one package, because that alone was $120… If I had to put an international stamp on every one of them, it would’ve been triple that.)
I paid for airmail shipping, which is supposed to be 10 days… This was July 21. They still haven’t arrived 🙁 Turns out, the post office sent it by boat by mistake, which takes 30 days or more!!
So I’ve emailed and facebooked everyone I could to let them know that they will be late, and telling them the date and time… I guess there’s not much else I can do until they arrive… and then it’ll be a few more days on top of that before my mother can stamp and mail them out for the guests to get them 🙁
My “respond by” date was supposed to be September 1… But people probably won’t receive them until just before then. I guess it would be easy enough to change to the 7th or 11th, but that means it’s only a month or less before my wedding… Grrrrrr 🙁
Sorry, just freaking out a little… Think this is still okay? Everyone’s been asking me where their invitations are… By the time they get them, people will only have a week or two to RSVP. How late is too late?? Any other suggestions?
