I very nearly got this one... I didn't, but it will always have a special place in my heart!

My exact reaction when I saw your photos was "Oh my God". Your dress takes my breath away it's so beautiful. I'm in love with your dress. It's official. It looks wonderful on you. I wish I had photos to share, but until I find her I just get to drool over bees dresses
Those are both beautiful dresses! I have to admit though, I'm just a tad bit disappointed. For some reason, I read the thread title as "Balloon Dresses." I was thinking this would be a thread about some crazy new trend that I could laugh at.
Love the ballgowns ladies - here is mine:
I can't get over how big it is but I figure this is the only time in my life I will get to wear such a big elaborate gown!
@ehunter9 We have the same dress. I changed mine to have shoulder straps. It just came in and I can't wait to go see it!
Wow. Awesome. You just made my day, Jellybean! Please tell me that's your dress! :)
Oh, those are all so gorgeous! I really REALLY was set on a ball gown! Sometimes, I wonder if I made the right choice, but I do really love the one I chose! It still has all the fun flow and movement of a ball gown, but it's more stylized and more "me." It's technically a "mermaid" but looks more a modified A on me. I'll probably get a crinoline for underneath though....

I tried one that made my mother cry and the designer of the dress was there. It was like, made for me, no alterations needed, not even the length! I didn't buy it in the end because it was too big to bring in the plane for my DW, and it would've been too hot, and we were looking for a bit more casual (even though those who've seen my dress, it was very classic)...
My only regret is that I don't have pictures of me in that dress, and since it's a local designer, it can't be found on the internet either... :(
GORGEOUS!!! I love love LOVE ballgowns!
I never thought I'd wear one but after seeing "Bride Wars" I knew a dress similar to Kate Hudsons was the one for me :)
Here is one of me in the dress getting fitted....looove!
i am madly in love with my dress! i can't wait for it to come in! when i first saw the picture, i thought id hate it...the pleats just looked so wrong. but i tried it on and fell in love (:
well idk why the first picture didnt work. too big maybe? but its Casablanca 1927
@MercedesAshley- Wow. Your dress was GORGEOUS.
Here's the one my mother tried to talk me into buying. It was her favorite one out of all the dresses I tried on. Sadly, I do not have pics of me in the dress.

I do have to say, it did look much better on me. In the end, like KLP, I went the mermaid route. The big ballgown was too traditional for me.
ehunter9 - what is your dress, i love it, now i want one too!!
Wow, I just realized... I think the dress I bought is technically a "ballgown," huh?! Haha... I always assumed a ballgown dress is the last thing I'd buy. Who cares... I'm in LOVE with my dress!

@KLP: okay, I have had major dress lust over the dress you bought since I first saw it. But I love the ballgown you posted first in this thread a lot too! I just love your style. :D Who makes that ballgown? I'm going to go on a dress trying-on bonanza to make sure the ball gown I'm in love with is the one I really want to buy...and I want to add that one to my list!
Here's the one I've been in love with for the past six months at least, and when I tried it on loved it even more...but I haven't tried on that many dresses yet and I just want to make sure!
I love seeing your dresses, ladies!!! When else will you get to wear something as outrageous as a dress like this? I say go all the way.
ETA: sorry the pic is soooo big!
ETA 2: Those who want to see more ballgown dress pron should check out this thread, just remembered it: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/show-off-your-princess-dress
@jenniferceline - LOVE your dress! Who is the designer/what is the style? SO cute!
ehunter9-I almost bought that dress, but I was already in love with another one. I don't have any pictures of me in it yet.

@discoliz - Thanks! My dress is actually from David's Bridal! It's a brand new style (a Galina), and it doesn't seem to be on their website yet. Someone else on this board messaged me and said they tried to find the dress at their local David's Bridal... with no luck. If it helps, this is what the tag says:
VEN Style: T3039IVORY
CLASS/STYLE: 16010015
By the way, it looks like a knockoff of this Priscilla of Boston dress: http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_detail.jsp?gid=1&sfid=50695&f=
