So the story is that I am having a brunch wedding. The ceremony is at 10:30, the reception starts at 12 and will conclude by 3. At my venue they have an all you can eat steak and seafood buffet on Saturdays so the tentative plan is to get everyone together that is staying at the resort and eat at the buffet after the reception for dinner. I should add that since it’s a brunch the food probably won’t end up being the most filling making another meal necessary.
I decided that while I would wear my wedding dress throughout the reception, I didn’t want to keep wearing it for the entire rest of the day, but I still wanted to feel like the bride so I thought another easier to wear dress would be nice. I ordered a super cute dress that I love, but I can’t decide if it is worth the $80 I spent on it to wear it for the rest of the day. I just got it today so I could easily return it. Here is a picture of me in my wedding dress and then a picture of me in the dress in question. Should I keep the dress?

@futuregattman: The bottom is cute but the top looks a bit odd. Maybe it is just the angle it was taken. It doesnt sit right with me, and it cuts you off in a weird place. Your wedding dress is gorgeous!

@ThyLadyThompson: I think the angle of the picture is strange on top of me holding my arms back so that they didn’t cover the dress. This picture is darker, but I think it doesn’t make the dress look quite as odd on top. I definitely appreciate the feedback and thanks for the comment on my wedding dress!

Hmm, it’s okay. Your wedding dress is GORGEOUS! How about renting a dress? I use Rent the Runway all the time, and I LOVE it! That’s where I got my earrings that I wore on my wedding day, my reception dress, and my rehearsal dinner dress. I highly recommend them! If you use this link, you can get $20 off your order.

@futuregattman: I agree with @ThyLadyThompson: the top looks odd. I think you should look for another.

@Christy42213: Thank you so much! I’ve never heard of that website before, and it looks amazing! I’ll definitely look into it. The consensus seems to be a no on the dress so I’ll probably end up returning it.

Yeah, you’ve got a great body, and the second dress isn’t as flattering as it should be. Return that puppy and keep looking.
A lot of these are pretty casual, but you might be able find something here.

I like the idea of a different dress but I’m not sure that dress suits you. You have a great figure but it seems too short for you (both from the knees down and in the torso). Your wedding dress looks great on you!

First off you look amazing in your wedding gown! The short dress isn’t nearly as flattering though and I don’t like the style of it.

Your wedding gown is gorgeous! I don’t want to hurt your feelings but my honest opinion is that the post reception dress you have chosen isnt right for the occasion, its pretty but just not the right one in my opinion.

@DomesticDiva: Thanks for the suggestion! There are some really great dresses in there!
@MrsHS: Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. I’ll definitely keep looking.
@Britt_RN: Thanks! I love my wedding dress. I’ve been thinking that too seeing them together my wedding dress blows the other one away.
@CTBride2016: Don’t worry, you aren’t hurting my feelings. I thought the dress was cute, but I could tell there was something not quite right about it, and I greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much for your comment about my wedding dress!!
