We are getting married in July and won't be able to invite everyone that we would like. Of course, the wedding, honeymoon, etc... is costing quite a bit, but we would like to have a party after the honeymoon to celebrate with other friends whom we would very much have liked to have at the wedding but couldn't invite (we're keeping it relatively small). We are looking for a place in the DC metro area that would be able to accommodate about 200 people for a cocktail party  hors d'ouevres in the fall. It would be great to have an option to go outdoors if the weather is nice, and I'm sure there are some inexpensive spaces -perhaps rented by nonprofits - but haven't come across them yet. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

The Bethesda Knights of Columbus is a nice property. It's a basic rental hall in a mansion, but they also have an outdoor patio and large lawn. It's also nice because they provide the bar and bartenders at reasonable prices. There's plenty of parking too.

The bumper car pavilion at Glen Echo Park would also be fun. http://www.glenechopark.org/rentals.htm

The Bethesda Women's Club is really reasonable too. It's a little small, but if you're not doing a seated dinner it might be large enough. http://www.bethesdawomansclubmd.com/Rentals.html

Check out the county park websites too. All of the counties have nice rental properties that range from gardens to historic buildings. The prices are fairly reasonable too.

The Old Stone House in Georgetown has a nice lawn in the back, and with a tent, I bet you could fit 200 people.  It's not a terribly high rental fee either, at $200 for 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon.
