If there is anything I've learned in this whole wedding process it has got to be, "it's not over till it's over!" For all brides to be, I hope you heed my advice so you don't encounter the same nightmare I am currently dealing with in regards to my photography studio.
I should precede this by saying that the studio was wonderful with everything up until this point...the post wedding production. Short of writing my novel here, I must say that it is IMPERATIVE that you get all your POST WEDDING items listed in your contract by a specified due date or within a certain time frame after your wedding. I am now battling my photography studio who claims that it takes 6-8 MONTHS for the 1st DRAFT of my wedding album to come through and in addition to that, my 3 revisions of the album does NOT permit me to change ANY of the pictures I had originally selected without paying for each change. SO I ask you all, how does that make any sense? How is it possible that I will see my completed album 3 years AFTER my wedding date?! Does their definition of revisions then defeat the purpose of drafts?! I mean, if I have to PAY for everything, what did I shelve out 6K for in the first place?!
But to top it all off, not only were they extremely rude to me, but told me that I was bothering them by calling so much and checking for updates since they apparently have no answer for anything.
I should also warn those signing a photography contract, to be sure if your studio outsources any of their services. In my case, they apparently outsource their albums and are now hiding behind the whole "it's production lab that is holding everything up, sorry we can't help it." It truly is a terrible experience that I am having with them and it makes me sad that they see absolutely nothing wrong with their business practices and have the nerve to tell me that they have been in business for over 20 years, so they are obviously doing something right....yeah ok, whatever!!!!
I am highly disappointed in my photo studio and it saddens me that even their owner chooses to stand behind his employees rather than acknowledge that his employees lack the professionalism to handle customers such as myself. Furthermore, it's extremely disappointing that he would insist that I "must be nice to the girls there because they are the ones that directly deal with the lab". Since when is it the customer's responsibility to be nice to rude employees who provide incorrect information and try to cover their tracks by telling the customers lies after lies?
It is frustrating for me to have to deal with this post wedding...as I truly thought that once the big day was over, everything would go smoothly. So please, for all those looking at photo studios, please make sure you include in the contract delivery stipulations and deadlines, otherwise you may end up like me, out all the money and no insurance that the final product will be delivered.
Thank you for listening to me vent...I feel better now...
