just wondering how much people like their bands to match! our rings look very similar yes?? but DH was having doubts because his has squared off edges and mine was smooth. it's even from the same store, but if he had it his way we'd be wearing the same band, different sizes!! however, the same band just didn't suit the both of us. him wearing my band is too girly, and me wearing his band was just too rough. the different bands suited us perfectly, and besides, they look the SAME from afar! lol. imo, it's already matchy-matchy enough when it's the same metal. how much do YOU care about being a "set"?

Our bands are the same metal and I think they compliment each other very well. They match but not in the sense that they look the same, just in that they go together.
Our's our completely different. Different store, different metal, different look.
This is what my band looks like,

And this is his, he wanted something very different,
I seriously cannot tell the difference between the two of your rings.
We sorta match. He has a two tone hand engraved ring.

I have two. The yellow is my grandmothers we had hand engraved and the other is an estate piece from a local jeweler.
@Birdee106: woah, that is very different indeed! it's like a knight and a princess. it's an odd pair but it works!
@MASPA: that's very cool! I like how the yellow stone ties in with the yellow gold, it's like a jewelry sandwich.
and I know, it looks the SAME from afar. that photo isn't very clear, but it's the only one I had with both in it. it is quite different up-close (I know, sounds crazy but his ring does NOT suit me and mine does NOT suit him! just feels 'off'), but here... these are the stock photos:
his/mine

he's just concerned because they come from two different "sets". *eyeroll* he's afraid someone walking down the street will be wearing the "actual set", and whisk me off righteously. or something. lol I never thought he'd mind this stuff!
mine's white gold and his is tungsten, but they both have the same chrome finish so they match
Same as above, mine is white gold and his is tungsten, but they match. It wasn't a priority though.

They match in terms of the color metal (mine is platinum and his is white gold, but they both have a similar finish.)
We don't have ours yet but he definitely wants a simple yellow gold band and I want white gold or rose gold with diamonds. So they won't match at all but that's fine with me :)
they are the same colour but not the same metal. i think his is palladium.
i have 2 bands. one plain and one bling. he prefers simple.
Ours couldn't be more different.
Mine is yellow gold, thin, has stones, and milgrain. His is tungsten, thick, and has brushed texture with polished edges.
Mine...

His...

They're very different, but they are both Tacori. ;) And they're both white gold.
Nope, not even a little bit matchy!

@6598731ssfse3: I love your band!
Ours are very different.
His:

Mine looks like this with my e-ring:

We aren't married yet, but we are doing our best to make our sets matchy...we both have solitaires for our e-rings, but I wanted some bling for wedding band and he wanted something with a little extra 'shine' but no diamonds, so we got hammered white gold instead for him. This is what they will look like after we are married...we can't wait! lol
Ours are both white gold. That is where the similarities end.

Ours will be the same plain white gold band, different size, but his is brushed white gold and mine is polished. I hope they won't look too different!
Not matchy and we didn't really care.

Crappy picture, but his is plain brushed titanium (and darker than it looks here), and mine is white gold with filigree and milgrain detail with diamonds.
Mine - sapphire eternity, his - plain white gold
I wouldn't want them to match.

Hubbys is Titanium with a beautiful blue sparkly middle. Mine is white gold with blue topaz & diamonds.
It was important to me that ours match/cooridnate. They'll both be in rose gold. They aren't an exact match but they look like a coordinated set.
Mine will be like this:

FI's will be like this:

@MASPA: I really love your rings. They look so beautiful and unique stacked together!
Mine is a thin rose gold band with a scroll pattern, his is titanium with a horn and wood inlay.
We haven't bought ours yet, but we already know they won't match. We both happen to want platinum, but I want achannel set diamond band, and fiance wants a totally plain, flat band.
I was wondering if they are supposed to match or not, mine are both white gold but my FI really likes this one gold david yurman band
Ours are totally different. Originally I wanted a matching set but in the end we had different tastes. I have ahalf eternity diamond & white gold ring and his is black and silver tungsten
I wanted a blinged out diamond band, but FI just wanted a plain band. So, no, ours are not matchy matchy! :P
matchy matchy :-) We both wanted to match but I HATED the rings he liked and he didn't like the rings I liked. Finally, we compromised by choosing ultra simple rings so neither of us could go wrong...
Our rings match because they're both yellow gold Claddagh rings, but his ring is much bigger than mine and my ring is blinged out whereas his is plain. I also have a matching wedding band that fits underneath my Claddagh ring but he doesn't want a band. Honestly, I love the fact that our rings match and so does he now, but it didn't mean very much to him at first and he originally didn't really like the Claddagh design. In fact, he was supposed to have a tungsten wedding band, but to make a very long story short, he couldn't wear that ring and we didn't have enough time left before the wedding to get him a replacement tungsten band, so I quickly bought him this matching yellow gold Claddagh ring and surprised him with it. The intention was only for him to wear it for the ceremony and then keep it only as a keepsake afterwards. I just wanted to give him this traditional Irish love ring because my Irish heritage is very important to me and I wanted to share it with him, and I told him that I would be honored if he would wear this ring during the ceremony, but I also told him that he didn't have to wear it anymore after that if he didn't want to. I honestly expected to have to get him a replacement tungsten band, but me giving him this ring (and the explanation I provided for it) meant a lot more to him than the tungsten band and he was married with this ring, so the Claddagh ring has grown on him and now he loves it and always wants to wear it. :)

My DF's ring just arrived! Very happy with it! It's a 4mm flat palladium band with a brushed finish. The first pic is of my set (very thin palladium bands and a moissanite stone in my e-ring) and the second picture is of my hand wearing my e-ring and DF's wedding ring on my middle finger (excuse the weird reflection on my e-ring: my phone cover is red!)
