Sorry for the awful yellow color of this photo!

The total carat weight of my ring is around .45, I think the center stone is around .25. I could not be happier with it!!! I think it’s goregous, perfect size for me (my finger is 5.75). It’s an estate ring from the 1940s.

Mine is 3/8 total, but I’m guessing the center stone is more like 0.25…? I honestly have no idea. I was just excited to see a lower-carat appreciation thread! Usually people focus on ones closer to 1 carat (and sometimes much higher!). Edit to add: ring size 5.5

It’s a mix of rose gold and white gold (with tiny diamonds + milgrain). FI says he liked the mixed metals and the slightly vintage feel due to the milgrain, and that it reminded him of an infinity symbol, which makes me love it even more. I can’t stop staring!

^I never paint my nails. Sorry. Not my thing!

FWIW, he also used to say that diamonds were silly and just a marketing ploy to get poor chaps to drop loads of money… I told him I still wanted diamond, but it could be TINY. Like, seriously, tiny. Because 1) I don’t care that much, and 2) we’re not exactly rich and I want to travel the world more than I want a load of money attached to my finger. He completely took me by surprise with this one, saying once he started looking, he got sucked into the ‘but diamonds are so SPARKLY!’ feeling haha 😉

.18 G color, VS1. This is my right hang ring, but my right hand is a mess from a zip line accident. Lol. My husband surprised me with this after coveting it for almost ten years (long before I met him) and I never take it off.

Center stone is maybe .15 or .20… ? I do not know about stones in bands.

My original center stone was about .08! It is now in a pendant but soon to be reset in a vintage yg filagree illusion ring for a RHR …I can’t wait

Aqua59:  You are so sweet!! Seriously, big fat grin on my face over here because of you 😀 FI did an awesome job to say he didn’t ask any of my friends for help (they all know what I like haha – what, a girl’s got to be prepared!). He was pretty sneaky and found ways to find out what I liked without me knowing what he was doing. I was helping a friend’s boyfriend pick out a ring for her, so he occasionally and very casually asked how that process was going… sneaky, sneaky man!

I agree with you about affording rings – the prices can be so crazy. As for ‘small’ rings: there can be so much delicate artistry in small rings! Often the metal gets more detailed (engraving, small stones, milgrain, the prong shapes, etc.), while still keeping a delicate look (like many of the rings posted here!). My grandmother’s ring was passed down to me and the diamond inside must be 0.05 it is so small, but the engraving on the side is incredible! People always commented and wanted to look closer. Rings are rings are rings and they can be pretty at any size, it’s the love and meaning that comes with them that matters!
