I *hope* to posting many more recaps and detailed reviews, but for the time being here is who we used. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me!
Ceremony Venue/Reception Venue: Hotel Allegro Chicago (contact: Kerry Craig)
Caterer: Hotel Allegro (of course)
Cake: Rolf's Bakery (incl. with package, but give them a B- on the cake)
DJ/Coordinator: Charizma DJs: www.charizmadjs.com (while I have a personal relationship with them, who else can say their DJ was ACTUALLY SPINNING at their wedding?). Also had coordinator and a photo booth/green screen from them. It was amazing.
Photographer: MetImages: Metimages.com
Florist: Scarlet Petal, Jenny was my contact. Simply, she completely understood what I liked, worked with my budget, and was so easy to work with.
Officiant: Close friend!
Wedding Dress: From Wedding Belles in Barrington
BM Dresses: Jim Hjelm, ordered from a local store to me here in LA (I live in LA)
Shoes: For ceremony: No name brand. For reception: White Reef Sandals ;)
Hair/MU: Friends of the Family
Invites: Local LA graphic designer, but here is the link if you are interested: www.maxwelljonesco.com/
Rings: Local LA Jewelry District - Icingonthering.com for my band...Will update with my husband!
Here are my vendors (reviews to come later!)
So far my vendors are
Brad Hindsley-spire catering--food is aMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAzing. when our original venue fell through, i sorted for months through the rest of places that I could use my own caterer JUST so I could use him!
new venue: lubeznik center for the arts (lubeznikcenter.org). pretty good so far
I had a destination wedding but I'm from Chicago so I used some local vendors.
Photographer: Monica Z Photography-- she and her husband Chris are awesome!
Groom's Outfit: Bachrach
Wedding Gown: Kasia's Bridal -- bought a sample gown very inexpensive off the rack
Bridesmaid Dresses: David's Bridal in Norridge (much friendlier than my visit to the Schaumburg store)
Invitation supplies: Paper and Print
Rings: Jared and Kay Jewelers
My wedding was amazing and we had so many wonderful vendors, but here are my favorites. It was pouring rain that day and it seems like everyone just went above and beyond to make up for the rain!
Don't have much booked yet except the venue.
The Acorn Theater...4 miles into Michigan..45 minutes from downtown Chicago and 15 minutes from South Bend. It's beautiful and amazing. If you are into history/theater/art..it is the place for you. The NY Times even wrote them up as a place to go!
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Georgia","serif"; color: #3b312f; font-size: 12.5pt;">I recently got married and had Cold Stone Creamery in Lockport cater our wedding reception. This is the store we always go to since it is in the town we live in but when I was picking out my flavors and toppings another bride was booking her engagement party and she lives in NorthBrook and they said it was no problem to cater an event that was alittle bit aways
I choose the option of having the ice cream sundae bar atation and everyone loved it! I was going to do the option of the portabkle frozen stoen that they would mix the ice cream and candy on just like in the store but the sundae bar was a little bit cheaper.
We had our whole wedding catered for way cheaper than our cake or a chocolate fountain would have cost. This Cold Stone in Lockport is really pretty reasonable and did a beautiful job. My theme was tropical colors and they set their table up to match my theme for free!
At a recent family get togethers thats all my family could talk about was the sundae bar. I would go to this Cold Stone off 159th even if I moved away because they treated us so good. I couldnt decide on my flavors or she let me try all of them again and again and gave me really good suggestions.
We also had a Cold Stone Candy station setup with cold stone containers on the way out for people to et on the way home
They also do total Ice Cream cakes!
We had 200 guests, they gave me a quantity discount and I had the middle Ice cream sundae bar package. It was about 3.00 pp plus tax
After spending hours, weeks, months searching I found them and it was the best deal I had yet to come by.
Good Luck!
@kellyfont: did you hire Coldstone only for dessert after a meal, or was that your reception "food", i.e. a dessert reception. It sounds so yum! (We went to that coldstone often when I lived in the area.)

Hey ladies!
We often get threads posted on local boards looking for reviews or ideas on vendors in a certain area. As your Chicago hostess, I created this thread to include vendor lists as a reference for local brides! Feel free to post your vendors from CHicago and all the surrounding suburbs (NW INdiana included). This will be a great reference for future brides looking for vendors and reviews.
Please post which vendors you're using for the following:
Thanks ladies!! I'm getting married in the south suburbs, but here are my vendors!
