Mine’s not nearly as non traditional as yours (which is gorgeous by the way!) but I did have to get a custom band for my ring.

The bands cost roughly 3700 CAD, they are hand carved.

Just wanted to comment and say your ring is absolutely stunning! One of the prettiest I’ve seen 🙂 As for the custom wedding ring from what I’ve seen from other people you can get the wedding band to fit around it.

Mine is very subtle, it only requires a slight curve to fit next to my engagement ring, but I love the simplicity. Mine came as a set, already made to fit together 🙂

I have a flower cluster engagement ring, and because of the way it’s shaped underneath no ready to buy ring will sit flush against it. I really don’t like the big gap I get if I buy a straight band and no shaped band in the shops has looked right. So I’m having a custom made one, with a deeper cut out piece for my ring to fit. Have included the prototype picture the jeweller sent me and I’m so excited to go and meet them to have it made 🙂

mjohnson88:  Thank you 🙂 I love it so much, but I didn’t quite anticipate how difficult it would be to find a perfect wedding ring to match!

I googled jewellers in the “diamond district” in London (where I live) who did shaped to fit wedding bands. When we bought my engagement ring it was the only one left, so I had to have it resized and to do that I went to a wonderful jeweller in that district. Unfortunately they don’t do customised wedding rings, but I knew that there’s where all the good jewellers are.

I went to one to have a meeting with them, but he didn’t really see my vision. A week later I went to a wedding fair, and literally talked to every single jeweller. One of them was a brother-duo running an independent shop in that district, and they seemed really good. They also said that it is included in the services that you get a silver propotype so you can wear it a day or so and see how you feel (obvs no stones included, but still sounded good). When I emailed them a couple of weeks later he immediately understood what I wanted and they sent me that picture as a suggestion.

So yh, I’d say go to all different high street jewellers and see if you can find anything that you think looks kind of what you’d like. Take pictures. Then visit custom jewellers with those pictures as a reference, and if you can I’d say a wedding fair could be well worth your time!

My setting was custom made so I’m going to have my band custom made too. I love the basket on my ring and don’t want to cover it up with a band. My ring is platinum and my band will be as well. It’s probably going to be a 3/4 eternity band but where it meets my basket it, it will have a bar so it can fit under the basket. It’ll cost a couple grand, not sure of the exact cost!

What I’m trying to explain with my band lol

Mine came as a set already, custom made in advance LOL! It’s the curved band on top of my e-ring.

mjohnson88:  Not at all, the setting was exactly what I wanted, so they just had to replace the stone. I did have to give it back two days after getting it because a stone fell out. They apparently resized a setting down to fit my finger which was a terrible idea since I am a size four and the one they sized was a six. Gr.
