I hired a MUA but I would suggest:

a good foundation (can make or break your look!)

setting spray (MUST HAVE!!!)

good blush (I prefer NARS or as a cheaper option: la femme)

eyeshadows (try a Naked palette!)

good eyeliner (gel eyeliner like Bobbi BrOwn or Inglot 77)

false lashes (I like ardell or Kiss but that’s personal preference)

brows to be done (powder or gel like Anastasia dipbrow or brow wiz)

Good matte lipstick

i love more than the basics so I would also:

highlight and contour

I am doing my own makeup. I have been to a lot of formal dinners during our relationship, and have become pretty good at highlighting the features and concealing the flaws on my face.

For my formal occasions, I wear Eve Pearl products. I really like her HD dual foundation, as it is designed to sculpt, and really does have a flawless, yet comfortable, finish. Eve Pearl has a number of videos showing how to use her products.

Day to day, I don’t. I wear all natural products due to sensitivities to a lot of products, and keep it minimal.

absolutly no SPF in your foundation Any HD foundation is perfect

get a mattifying primer (cover fx mattifying primer is great) if you have oily skin but if your dry to use smash box photo finish . If it’s neither your moisturizer shoudl be be fine (cetaphil oil control moisturizer is great)

I like loreal true match concealer I dab it on and blend in patting motions  a with a damp beauty blender under my eyes then set with a translucent powder

Make sure you get false eyelashes natural looking ones ardell has a great selection (demi whispies are my fav)

matte shadows are the way to go  (naked basics pallet)

water proof mascara a must

the best setting spray is model in a bottle you can get it on thier wesite

any blush is fine easy with it!

I didn’t do my own makeup, although I wish I had. These are the products I use on a regular basis and would have used on my wedding day:

Smashbox primer (original)

Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation

Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder

Tarte blush in Glisten (or any color you prefer. these are great blushes)

MAC Prolongwear concealer (used as undereye concealer and eye shadow primer)

Urban Decay Naked 1 or LORAC Pro palette

Maybelline gel eye liner

Benefit They’re Real mascara

I like Ardell lashes. I would probably wear the Demi Wispies but if you want something more natural that still makes a difference I would go for the Ardell 105 lashes.

Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is good but it broke me out so definitely get the travel size and test it out. I’ve also heard great things about Model in a Bottle but I haven’t tried it yet.

Texasbride3982:  I used a mixture of drug store and more expensive brands.  I used a Maybelline concealer/brightener, a little bit of tinted moisturizer/BB cream, a Mary Kay bronzer for a little color (I have naturally pink cheeks that get pinker when I’m stressed/excited so I didn’t want to overdo it).

I’m mostly into eye make-up and lipstick – it’s usually all I wear.  So I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion, NAKED palette (color – Naked), Stila liquid eyeliner in black, Maybelline Mega Plush Volume mascara (3 coats) for eyes.  And a red Clinique lipstick, not sure of the color, but it was bright!  Perfect for the look I was going for.
