I LOVE LOVE LOVE Melissa Sweet and Claire Pettibone dresses. They are just out of my budget entirely! :(
I'm in love with Juliet and other other one with the long sleeves off the shoulders by Claire Pettibone.
i have a jenny packham for my reception dress. i just thought it was so fun and flowy for dancing!
Let's see other similar designers include:
Elizabeth Fillmore

Lela Rose

All these designers make such beautiful and uncommon dresses. I feel like it gives the bride a chance to express her own personality, rather than trying to fit into the "one ballgown fits all" mode.
I wore Claire Pettibone's Kristene. I love it so much and feel so lucky to have worn such a beautiful dress.
Hi Wellykiwi, are you in New Zealand? Maybe you already know about these designers, but just in case... Mira Mandic (http://www.miramandic.com.au) and Collette Dinnigan (http://www.collettedinnigan.com.au/) have some beautiful designs. They are in Australia, I'm not sure about NZ. If you're in the States, maybe check out Douglas Hannant too. He has quite a few narrow silhouettes like the other designers you mentioned.
I love all these unique and dreamy dresses!
Do you guys know the general price range of Claire Pettibone, Elizabeth Fillmore, Melissa Sweet and Jenny Packham?
(I know it's been a while since anyone's posted on this thread, but I'm hoping someone sees this!)
Yep, and that's the low range.
The Aisle New York has them on sale a lot. Wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on those sales. :) They go down to $1k or so.
They just sold out of Jenny Packham Mya for $1200 but they have a couple Monique Lhuilliers, Lela Rose, Carolina Herrera. They have new sales all the time. :)
@techie: Great suggestion! It totally slipped my mind :)
Amsale Giselle for $1990 right now, left in a size 8. Gorgeous!
PM me if you'd like an invite.

I've just bought my Jenny Packham 'Luna' Dress today! So excited I just love the art deco beads and soft netting so floaty and beautiful and looks great of my slim curves. So excited and can't wait for it to come in!

@Lizziegreenwood - Wow! The Luna is amazing - I just love it! Well wear:-)
My Jenny Packham is Eve - from her 2011 collection. I was having a hard time picking a dress - none of them really felt like me, but when I slipped the Eve on - I was just mesmerised. Sometimes I get the odd niggling feel that it's not bridal enough, but I try to hold on to the feeling I had when I first tried it!

@Charmuse: I have ordered Eve too! Just as you say I didn't feel myself in any other dress. My niggling worry is that the size in the shop was too big so they pinned it,which gave the top half a better shape, but I'm worried that in the the right size the natural shape of the dress might make it difficult to replicate that. I like the draped effect but still want it to be flattering. Enjoy it anyway!
I am DIRELY in love with Claire Pettibone... hoping I can somehow swing a used dress since I can't afford the in-store price!
I am selling a Shukuro Jenny Packham gown (Ivory). It still has original tags and it has never been worn. Size UK 14. Never been altered either. It is also in the orignal bag!

Call me a romantic. I'm in love with frills, swirls, 'swooshing', and general all round flowy-ness.
I'm thinking if I can swing it (I may win lotto, you never know), I'll be picking a Melissa Sweet, Claire Pettibone, or a Jenny Packham. They're all just so feminine, almost old fashioned, and yet, sweetly modern. But, what ho, have I missed any? Do you guys read those tag words and think "But...but, what about....'s dresses?!" Sa-weet, show us the swoosh!
So, show us the dress you picked, or if, like me, you don't have one, your 'I would if I could' dress. I'll start, these are my favs:
