Hi everyone!
I'd love to see a bunch of pictures of real mothers in their dresses at their son/daughter's wedding. We're going to start shopping for my Mom soon (I think she's nervous) and any ideas are appreciated!
I don't have a "real" picture because I haven't gotten married yet, but this is the dress my mom just bought.

My mom bought this dress for my spring wedding. It will be nice paired with a cardigan and umbrella (Seattle/ April wedding).
The first picture is my mother in law and father in law. The second picture is my stepmother and my husband's cousin.

She's pretty sure she's rolling with this one but it's going to be in a deep crimson. I love this neckline on her and cried when I saw her in it.

Sorry for the poor quality...I've got better pics at home, but these will have to do for now. We had a July wedding outside. MIL wore pants and a jacket. My ste-mom wore a yellow sundress. My mom wore a silver sheath dress with a sparkle neckline.

Aileen- thanks! Not sure if she will wear the hat yet. The top is really beautiful IRL – it looks like handmade lace…she will be one hot mama in it! :) of course, she LOVES to shop and every time she talks about her outfit, my dad laughs and rolls his eyes as he expects her to find something else she loves before the wedding!
so many beautiful dresses! My mom said she wants to wear purple (to our navy blue, white, with red accents wedding), and it has to "not look old and fudy-dudy." and cannot look like a grandma or 80 year old would wear it. Heh. My mom is adament that she wants to look her age (mid-40s) OR younger and is convinced the only dresses for mothers out there will make her look 80! Heh. Now, to find a semi-sexy, purple, full length dress that makes my mom look good...
Ejs-your mom does look excellent in that number :)! Here is a picture of my mother (and father and I) on the Big Day :) My BMs wore floor length black dresses so my mom opted for a different length to differentiate :)

@crebre, yeah, my mom has passed for my older sister a few times. People have thought she was in her mid-30's/early 40's before....

@tbk: Yep! It's a bridesmaid's dress :o) My mom is 51 and I think she pulls it off pretty well...she's going to get a little wrap for the ceremony.
@camrah Seconded on wanting to know where that dress came from - your mom has great fashion sense, I'd wear that myself! Hm, I do need a dress for the rehearsal dinner... :)
Don't have a real pic yet, buy mom has ordered this for our church ceremony/Friday cocktails reception. My dress (for the church) has a black empire waist, so we've told the wedding party to be in black & we'll lighten it up with leis. FMIL has a chiffon skirt of similar length & is looking at something like this, basically top 6488 (in black) & skirt MSKT-L, in black with a bolero. I think they both look GREAT!

I love this thread!! I've been a nervous about what I should put my mother in and I'm glad I saw this post! All your mothers look lovely...thanks for the inspiration again!
She hasn't bought it yet, but the front runner for my mum so far is this fancy little number. It looks great on her!
My mom got her dress at Nordstom (I'm pretty sure) and matched the flowers perfectly! I'm not sure where my MIL got her tea-length dress, Dillard's or Dress Barn most likely. (And they were dancing down the aisle if you were wondering why the the odd poses. It was awesome. :-))
