I am totally over this one student who REFUSES any help that anyone tries to give her.  She is rude, nasty, and then just shuts down.  I have been patient…I have been nice…I am STILL patient and nice…but she is SO FRUSTRATING.  I understand that you cannot read, and you are in 7th grade, and that you think there is NO SOLUTION…but if you would TRY and be RECEPTIVE to my help, it would work!!!!  ARGH.

7 more days.

@peachacid:  how does one make it to the 7th grade not knowing how to read!!!

this is partly rhetorical because I remember a girl in HS who could barely read and didn’t know what continent she loved in. But still I just don’t get it

Mine is about my husband haha!  I started my period in the middle of the night on Monday night and hardly slept at all bc my cramps were so bad.  I told DH this a few times throughout the day and expressed how much I was hurting and how tired I was and how I just generally felt like sh*t.  So I get home and lay down for about an hour before getting up to make us some dinner.  He got home and sat on the couch while I finished cooking, made him a plate, took it to him and then ended up cleaning up the whole kitchen myself.  I know that he had a rough day at work and that he was just tired and frustrated, but he never once offered to help me cook OR clean.  Typically our cooking/cleaning routine is a joint effort and it just really pissed me off that, knowing I was feeling terrible, he didn’t do a damn thing to help me out.  THEN he told me that I should go downstairs to let our dogs in for the night…I.Lost.It!  I made him very aware of all the work that I had done and that he hadn’t done anything so he could let the dogs in his damn self.  (A little harsh, perhaps, but I was soooo frustrated!)  We crawled into bed, staying on our own sides of the bed, told each other goodnight, and went to sleep..no kissing or snuggling.  We don’t have spats like that very often, but UGH he just pissed me off last night!!  Ok…rant over.  o_O

@missjewels:  Mine is for the woman who decided to take her shoes and socks off on the train this morning and proceeded to rub cream all over her nasty feet (as an aside, I hate feet). There are certain things, such as this, plucking your eyebrows, and other grooming habits, that need to remain private.

@luvmesumhim:  +1. It happens. In Ontario (or maybe Canada-wide), they do a literacy test in grade 10. You’d be amazed how many people failed. I am not sure how you get through the school system being unable to read or answer basic questions.

My boss is having issues again!! Every single day there is something wrong with her and you can’t even get a chance to talk to her because everything is about her and her issues. It’s frustrating!

Mine is about “people”… well, specifically, my fellow North Americans.

It seems that people don’t really think they need to take responsibility to figure out why they want what they want.

I’m thinking in terms of consumerism.

It really bothers me how people seem to be willing to turn a blind eye to the motivations behind why they want what they want to buy, and whether in each case, the reason is a good reason that outweighs the social harm incurred.

@luvmesumhim:  There are many reasons why it happens.  This girl has a low IQ, doesn’t get support at home, is in a pretty bad school system (meaning that teachers are inundated with kid after kid who has myriad problems that teachers cannot solve, but are expected to solve…), now has a bad attitude, speaks Spanish at home but her Spanish isn’t even well-developed or fluent…etc etc etc.  But what frustrates me is her attitude, not anything else.  I have another kid whose reading (decoding, rather) abilities are lower than hers, but he TRIES.  And he makes some progress.

@orchidaloha:  I’ve had that boss!  She was in the middle of a divorce and was either depressed over it or was on cloud nine because she had begun dating guys she met online and going out and being a whore for the first time in 18 years…maybe ever, who knows!  But in the midst of all of this, I got engaged to my now DH and she got uber jealous and started looking for reasons to fire me.  Finally she found a loophole and canned me for NO reason!  I had never been fired from a job.EVER.  In hindsight, it was the best thing that ever happened since that company is now in a HUGE legal mess with the IRS and FBI.  Karma my friend…karma.

Today is my SO’s birthday and he’s working 10 hours!  He was scheduled to work only 5, but he picked up a coworker’s shift because she’s going to the courthouse to get married! (Congrats, to her, by the way.)  He also has to get up at 4AM for work tomorrow, which means he’ll have to go to sleep at 9PM.   I was planning on making a three-course meal for him for his birthday dinner, and we talked about going to see Fast and Furious 6, but I don’t think we’ll have time for any of that now.  Boo.

In an attempt to remain somewhat vague… actually my username is kind of connected with me somewhere else, but whatever.

I get asking for good vibes, or juju, or what have you on facebook. It’s how most of my friends and I connect since our lives have taken off and spread us out all around the country (and world!) I myself have asked for things like ‘fingers crossed i get the job!’ and ect, another friend asked for good juju when they found a growth connected to her reproductive system (she’s pregnant.) Like I said, I feel that.

But theres this girl on my friends list. I’ve known her a while. Recently something happened to her, that caused something else to happen- when a year ago it would have rolled off her shoulders no problem. She had made update after update after update about this happening to her. I’m not talking the ‘hey, good vibes guys!’ kind of update, either. I’m talking something that belongs in a blog post or a diary…not a status update. if it’s not about this situation she’s in then it’s about her career choice and what happens in it. Literally, a blog post in a status update. I’m tring to figure out how to politely suggest she start a blog or something.

And another thing … don’t talk to me when I first wake up. Let me get some coffee in my first, please.

Mine is about my secretary.  She started about 2 months ago and I’m so frustrated by her constant mistakes.  It’s gotten to the point where I have to double check everything before it goes out, even basic faxes.  I know that I’m an impatient person but she’s not learning fast enough and making obvious mistakes.  Like not checking a copy of a 4 page document and I find that one of the pages didn’t get copied. I forwarded her an email with the contact info for 2 insurance companies and I asked her to call the first insurance company – she goes and googles “First Insurance Company” then comes to me wondering why it’s a car insurance place.  Some of our mailings came back because she messed up the addresses on the mailing labels. I needed more paper clips and it turns out that we don’t have any more left – she’s supposed to be keeping an inventory of the supplies and keep it well-stocked.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! Ok rant over for now.

Okay I’m on vacation right now, and for the past two nights I have been woken up from a dead sleep by babies screaming in the room next door to me. I’m staying at a very nice resort and it’s just starting to piss me off.

Yeah, I don’t have any kids of my own, but seriously what is the point of bringing children so young to a place like this? My parents took me to Disney World when I was little and I barely even remember it.
