So, most of us have those moments where we put on a dress and immediately love it, or at least debate whether or not it could work. What dress did you try on that made you think "Aack! Get it off me!" Post a picture! It'll be fun to see our different taste as one bride's absolutely not the dress is another's OMG! The Dress! Some brides look fantastic in dresses I could not wait to get off. So, without further ado, here's the dress I liked the least on me, David's Bridal 6280. It's way too poofy for me, and it's currently on sale for $349 if anyone loves it!
lol I love this post! Once I go shopping this weekend I will be sure to come back with some pics for this thread!
I've seen this on other brides on the Bee and they look beautiful in it. I felt like a marshmallow. The consultant was like "This is a Maggie Sottero" and I remember thinking "Am I supposed to know who the hell she's talking about?!?" Needless to say I knew nothing about dress designers going in, lol
I wasnt allowed to take pictures of any dresses until I paid for one :-(
Oh man.. I never took pictures of the bad ones. Totally should have though!!
Like you said, they weren't ugly dresses- just not my style or didn't look good on my body
All the mermaid dresses I've tried on--that silhouette makes me look like boa constrictor in the process of digesting an elephant, in a bad way ;).
Also a short dress I tried on. I actually love short wedding dresses, but they're just not for me. As the very kind lady at the boutique tactfully tried to say, "you don't really need a dress that makes you look younger."
@Looopy: I actually like the way this dress looks on you. You look like Venus emerging from the waves!
Now, I have to say - this dress is BEAUTIFUL. But it was definitely not the dress for me.
@StellaK: Haha, thanks! I think it's the way I'm holding my hands... like I'm trying to kick my way to the surface. I also didn't like mermaid silhouettes, but I never described their look quite as eloquently as you just did... hahaha!!!
I wish I'd taken a picture of me in this weird ball-gown number. I really did look like a toilet-roll-doily-cover. I also couldn't walk. Shame, because the dress was GORGEOUS on the rack!
@PopRox: Oh Essence of Australia! I would love it if it were minus a few flowers, but It is beautiful in the ad, and it looks good on you! Do you remember the price?
Okay, this isn't a great picture, but I think it's clear this dress wasn't working. It was way too small, pointy boobs, and really plain - I was not a fan.

haha! I have some funny pics of me trying on dresses.
My facial expressions are very expressive :D

Oh man, I wish I could save pictures from Facebook... I have some great "omg get it off" pictures...
I didn't stay in it long enough to get pics of me wearing it, but this dress was a tragedy on me.
LOL. I wish I'd kept some pictures of me in bad (on me at least) dresses. Great thread!

No offense to anyone who has these dresses, they just werent my style.
First one was cute but way too much, also the second one looked very weird at the bottom and was very heavy..
Ooh, I have a lot of these.
So I originally thought I'd like mermaid, but really didn't like how they looked on me. And they didn't make me feel like a bride.

Then these fit and flare ones made my hips look chunky and long.

And this one for some reason made me think of a horse...
>please just see the light up dress thread< definitely not!
however as I try on more dresses, I will have more to contribute:)
@Ka393: I like the princess one on you, it's really pretty! It does poof out a little much though, especially right at the bodice/skirt line.
I love this thread. Here are some of mine. All beautiful dresses but not for me...

@graci3: I actually LOVE the way the dress inthe second picture looks on you!
And seriously? Yourhips could NEVER look chunky :)
Here's one of mine. Idk why the time stamp says January 2008....haha this was definitely like April or May 2010.

Great thread, I've only get these two pics, my Mum's got a couple of others. It shows the back view first for both dresses. The first dress I felt like an armadillo and the pattern on the breast area is awful and as you can see I don't suit satin. The next one was the best I looked in all the dresses I tried on that day and it felt lovely, made from taffeta but days looking at the pics I thought I looked frumpy in it expecially from the back.
@Prewitt: I actually like the second dress on you a lot! I can kind of see what you mean about looking a bit frumpy from the back but I think that's more down to how you're standing with your shoulders a bit too forward.
@Hobokenbride2012: those are the disney alfred angelo princess dresses right??? I recognize them bc a recently engaged friend of mine is thinking about the belle dress. She sent me the link, but has yet to try any of those on.
I only took pictures of 2 definite no's:
1) Makes me look bigger than I am, especially in the waist:

2) Couldn't move my arms, WAY too small, felt like a mummy:

@irishbride2be: Yes they are. I actually bought one of them but these just didn't do it for me. Belle looked even worse on me. Here it is

@Hobokenbride2012: I have to admit, I think the Belle looks great on you! Very pretty!
@Looopy: actually before I bought the dress I finally decided on this was one of my contenders. Love it!
@froydis: Thanks it was the forerunner until my 2nd shopping trip. I think it's the straps that made me look frumpy from the back as cut off the top of my arms. I did try on a strapless A-line with a big skirt and it did look great but i'd already tried on the dress I bought, which is a fishtail shape.
