Ladies, I am struggling, trying to find what I want in a wedding band. I have ideas for stand-alone bands to be worn on my left hand while my engagement ring moves to my right and I have ideas for bands that would look good next to my engagement ring. I think it would be very helpful if I could see all of your lovely wedding bands.
Extra points to those who have colored gems in their engagement ring (and even more extra points if you have colored stones in your band - one of the directions I am leaning.)
And if you're like me and don't have your band yet, but would like to post suggestions or post your engagement ring for others to give suggestions, go ahead! This thread could be really fun! I'll post a picture of my engagement ring below:
I have two wedding bands and I wear them together with my ring but both could be worn alone.
Here are each of them alone:
Each of them with my engagement ring:
All three together:
@KatNYC2011: Very lovely! I like how you mixed the metals in your set.
Wellll....ookkaayyy
Even if my band style wouldn't really match yours. OP, your ering is beautiful.

My wedding band! Plain knife edge 18k yellow gold band:

@rachgirl82: Oh, my gosh, LOVE! Thats actually very similar to one of the pictures I had saved, but instead of the lovely blue stones, I was going to put rubies there.
@DeathByDesign: Wow, your band compliments your e-ring perfectly! Did you get them together as a set, or did you just find the band that matched perfectly afterwards?
@spoiledvamp27: Thanks! We didn't buy them at the same time, but it is the band that is meant to match my e-ring, from the same place. :)
Hi @spoiledvamp27, our rings are pretty similar!

I went for a plain gold band for practicality's sake. The e-ring comes off frequently, but the wedding band never does. I wear them on the same hand.

In the future, a nice anniversary gift would be an emerald and diamond band, but I really prefer the simplicity of a plain gold band for everyday wear!

My set is all diamonds, but I have been thinking lately how I might want a rose gold band with pink sapphires in a few years to stack in between my rings, similar to KatNYC2011.

When I wear my ring, I have a variety of bands to go with it.
Half eternity and gold band, both 2mm:

Channel set 3mm band:
@Minutiae: Beautiful! I have considered a plain white gold band as well, but FI doesn't like the idea of me not wearing my engagement ring at all, so I think that option may be lower on my list, but I love the anniversary band you posted. I love emeralds. :)
@Mrs. Fireworks: Lovely! Your band definately compliments your ring very well. And the rose gold band sounds exciting!
@spoiledvamp27: A plain gold band or a half-eternity band of diamonds (if you want some bling) would be perfect with your ring. I am concerned that something with both diamonds and rubies might look too busy next to your three-stone, but I need pics to be sure. Have you tried on any bands yet?
@DeathByDesign: I am planning to get a plain knife-edge band, too. It looks so elegant worn alone! I love your set.
@morganjenkstamwood: Lovely options. I prefer your channel set band the most. That's one of the options I am considering. I also love that your ring almost looks like the inverse of mine! :)
@LittleRiver: I have definately considered both of those options, and found a chanel set band of diamonds that would look lovely, but I'm also thinking I may want something a bit more intricate for my band. I don't mind my band being more prominent than my engagement ring. I'm teetering between having it "compliment or enhance" my engagement ring and having the band be more prominent as a symbol of our marriage. I like both sides of thought on the matter.
Just got to try mine on for the first time last weekend!
Crappy iPhone pic. e-ring has knife-edge band, wedding ring is a half-eternity band that is 2mm...IMO, perfect width to accompany the kife-edge setting

I cut my knuckle a while ago, and I can't take it off! So here it is still on my right hand becasue I am not married yet, and I thought this would be a safe place for it so I don't lose it.... Now I am wondering how am I going to take it off? I tried everything... I guess I will wait until my knuckle finishes healing...
Such a simple band and costs me $49.00 at a jewelry store. Still looking for HIS band!
@happyface: Lovely! Would you mind posting a picture of your engagement ring so I could mentally picture the two together?
@akp0702: Very beautiful. And I completely agree, it is the perfect width!
@spoiledvamp27: Thanks, I know I don't have other gems in my band, but it was also important to me for the band to be something that a) didn't over power the e-ring by being too wide and b) wasn't so slim/small that it wouldn't look right being worn alone. I think the 2mm is the perfect fit. Your e-ring has the unique additiona of something other than diamonds, I think some delicate but complimentary to your e-ring is the perfect way to get a band that you think makes a statment by itself on your left hand.

My e-ring/band were custom made to match each other. I like the harmony lol
I never ever thought I'd want a matching channel set band, but after trying on a million other options (and even considering having something made), I ended up with a matching channel set band. I was worried it was too much metal but it actually looks perfect. I work with my hands making candles for a living, so I like that there's no prongs on the band. And it's insanely sparkly... which is fun :)

So here they are together... sort of... I can take off my engagement ring! YEAH!
When they are together, they look dainty.
@mrscheetos: How lucky to have a matching set. I agree, they are very harmonious. Lol :)
@KristenGotMarried: Yes, I love the idea of no prongs on the band. My engagement ring is prong set and I'm always so paranoid about it getting caught on something and bending the prongs back.
@happyface: Ooh they do look very dainty, and very pretty! I like the twisted detail on your engagement ring.
So this is not my wedding band (yet) but one that I tried on and really liked....diamonds and sapphires platinum eternity band!
@AshleyR83: Very pretty! I like how the sapphires and diamonds alternate.
@spoiledvamp27: I LOVE the twisted detail on the engagement ring, I asked the jeweler if he can make a band matching the e-ring, but it would still cost me, gasp... $300.00 even though I would supply the gold from other rings I had? No thanks! The engagement ring cost me $89 from a pawn shop.... I wasn't going to pay $300 for a matching band!
I took this plain one instead about a week later when he wasn't around!
@AshleyR83: I LOVE that! Looks really similar to my set but with the alternating stones. Probably why I like it so much!
I originally wanted a diamond band to match the band on my e-ring, but it was out of the budget. I have actually grown to love the plain band, I think it makes my e-ring stand out more.

@happyface: Yeah, I understand about the prices of more detailed rings, but this plain one keeps the attention on your lovely engagement ring, so I think its still great.
@SarahSmilesDec28: Your engagment ring is stunning! (but I may be a bit partial to the color. lol) I thin kthe plain band ended up working out great for you though. It really does show of your engagement ring well.
@vintagemodernbride: I love how yours is curved to fit your ring. Is that rose gold that it is set it? I can't see too well on this monitor. I'm supposed to be getting a new screen next week. Yay!
We went off the wall and just received them last night, so I have to share!

@aliavenue: Cool! Is that wood? I can't see too well on this monitor.
