Ok I can’t be the only one having wedding dreams. I thought it would be fun to share our wacky wedding dreams as a way to help let it all out. It has to just be coming from nervous energy, right? Anyway, my latest dream was it was the day of the wedding and we just FORGOT to go. We got dressed but then just forgot. Once we realized our mistake, we tried to call everyone to see if we could just do the wedding the following day, you know, since they were already in town and everything. It was crazy! But funny too!
What’s been your weirdest wedding related dream?

It was more like a nightmare!! I’m getting ready, everything is going great even better than I expected, and then it’s time for me to walk down the aisle. The music begins and I start walking, but I’m staring at the ground in front go my feet the entire time like I can’t or won’t look up. Our pastor starts to do our vows and I’m still staring at the ground I haven’t seen my FI once. Finally it’s time for me to say ‘I do’ and I look up as I’m saying it and its my EX FI standing there with a shit eating grin on his face. Then I woke up. It was unsettling to say the absolute least.

@Weetzie: Yikes! That WOULD be a nightmare. Like “What the heck are YOU doing here?!? Get out of my happy day!” Good thing it was only a dream 🙂

Lol. YOU asked for it!
so I dreamt that my fiance and I were walking through my hometown and were discussing wedding plans and getting increasingly stressed out and I got really upset talking about how expensive it was and all. So were like you know what? Let’s just get married right now.
Then we drove to the low-rise projects and knocked on someones door (as far as I know, I do not actually know anyone who lives in the projects) and my aunt came to the door. and I was like “Aunty! what a surprise! Can we get married here?” And she was like “sure baby, wamme make you a cake?”
Then I changed into this FLY dress that I’ve never seen before. It was kinda like this:
And my hair was down and wavy and I may have been wearing Ravens house slippers.
My fiance was wearing a suit, but he didn’t have any wedding shoes so he had to borrow a pair from my cousin and they were too small, so he was walking on the backs of them like house slippers. Then, during the ceremony someone came and brought him a bigger pair of shoes.
After we said “I do” we decided to keep it a secret that we had eloped, so I asked him if we could still have the wedding in Barbados in September and he just kinda shrugged.
It gets fuzzy after that, but…yeah.

I had just a weird random dream the other night. I dreamed that I was at my wedding acting as the usher! I was escorting people to their seats in the church and passing out the programs! I wasn’t in my dress yet actually just in a white tshirt and jeans! I guess that is just my DIY and try to do it all self at play. Oh boy!

Perfect timing for this thread! I’m in the venue-selection phase (we have a date and two on hold, I just have to pick one…which is turning out to be incredibly stressful). Last night I dreamt that I was being shown around all these venues…naked. I stayed in the car and covered myself up, but whoever it was insisted on driving me around to them. I always thought the “naked in school” “naked at work” dreams were just a cliche, but I finally had one!

@2BeeMrsE: OMG too funny. I’m sure there’s some psychological explanation behind the “naked” dreams since they seem to be common.
Keep em coming ladies!

My dream was it was my wedding day and everything was going wrong. The wedding didn’t start till 6 and they were serving food at 4, I had forgotten my dress at home, important people had not shown up yet, we didn’t have the marriage licence, etc, etc….. well as everything fell apart the day started over and I tried to fix what had gone wrong the last time and more stuff went wrong and the day started over again. I was stuck in this endless loop trying to make the day perfect and failing.

Well here’s my weird wedding dream: we get married in this beautiful hotel but I don’t see the ceremony in the dream. The next morning me and my husband are sitting at the dinner table in my parents house. I’m still in my gown and him in his suit. Apparently I got sooooo drunk and couldn’t remember anything from our wedding!
Not the first dance, dancing with my dad, cutting the cake….Nothing! So I ask him if my friend who is our photographer showed up, he says yeah but only for a little while. I’m like Wtf, show me the pics he took! He only took a few pics and my FI was wearing a hat from our high school in every pic! I’m like why would you marry me wearing that hat?! So then I blow up my friends phone to see if we could recreate the wedding so he could take the pics.
He finally answers but gives me some lame excuse on why he couldn’t come bavk to take the pics.

Its my wedding day and the dress I bought is not the same dress, its like an early 1900’s silky grandma night gown, high turtleneck and all… I am freaking out but my mom is insisting I look beautiful, and all the while I can’t understand why my dress is so different, why I chose it, and how I am going to face everyone in it.. lol
A few nights later I dreamed I was at my reception and the centerpieces are nothing but pussy willows and twigs thrown in vases..
I still have 10 more months until my wedding, I dont even know how I am going to deal until then with these crazy dreams!! lol

I’ve only had two so far, but they were both weird/bad.
In the first dream, our wedding ceremony and reception was taking place at this really ritzy place in Boston (totally random since I’ve only been there once and my fiance has never been there). I took an elevator to the penthouse (where the events were taking place), only to find that there were tons of people there that we didn’t invite. Most of the people were people I actually know in real life, but all of them were random people I was never close to.
I kept asking our wedding coordinator (not our actual coordinator, just some girl) to find my mom, and she just kept bringing other people over. I was hysterical and crying by the end of the dream because I couldn’t find my mom. Finally my mom came over to me and asked what was wrong. When I told her I was upset because a bunch of people had shown up uninvited, she told me that she had invited them.
I don’t remember anything else from that dream, but the sheer panic I felt stuck with me after I woke up.
In the second dream (this one was fairly recent), I showed up to the venue right before the ceremony was supposed to start … And I wasn’t ready at all. I had no makeup on, my hair was a mess, and I seemed to think I looked just fine.
My best friend (and my Man of Honor) was asking me why I wasn’t ready, and then it was like I just suddenly realized that this was the case. I then started freaking out, saying over and over, “How could I let this happen? I always plan for everything! How could I not even make a hair and makeup appointment on my wedding day?”
Haha. These dreams are ridiculous, but they stuck with me enough that I could write them up on the Bee!

@RiverBride13: showing up to the ceremony in a limo, alone, and as I get out of the car I relaize I am wearing a GIANT PINK poufball of a dress. I start to stress and begin laughing at the insanity of it all. And then I wake up.

How ironic – I had my first wedding dream last night:
The cake arrived. It was missing the third layer… and half of the frosting and the piping. On top of that, it was much smaller than I expected. I called the baker and morphed into bridezilla… screaming that this was not a $500 cake and why was it so small and there wasn’t enough cake for my guests. Then I reached my hand into the cake, grabbed a handful of it and wildly began throwing it around the room. Over and over again, until the cake was in absolute ruins. From there, my anger escalated, and I turned away from the cake and rock star style, trashed the room… kicking things, throwing things, ripping stuff from the walls etc. Just frantic and angry.
Then a new cake was delivered. It was dark red, almost black, one layer, cut in pieces – maybe a dozen or so. Next to it was a desktop sand zen garden… and for some reason, this satisified me. When I turned, the room was completely clean and crisis averted.
I’m not even going to bother analyzing it. I’m sure I’ll have other wacky, anxiety ridden dreams for the next 6 months leading up to the wedding. Don’t we all?

Hi bees, if you’ve read any of my posts before you’ll already know about my dress regret and my plans to start searching again in April 🙂 last night I had the strangest dream 🙁 I was at a church that wasn’t where were getting married!) and the vicar was like ‘aren’t you getting ready?’ I was confused as it wasn’t our wedding day, he said it was and the groom was inside. I didn’t have a dress, my hair was greasy and I was given a dress to put on that was awful. Non of our guests were there and my dad wasn’t even there to walk me down the isle 🙁 the vicar said I could use his house to get ready but to hurry up as he was starting in 45 minutes. Inside his house was loads of old people sat around a massive open fire and as I went up the stairs all the walls and rooms were getting smaller and smaller!

I just woke up 3 hours ago in the middle of the night fr my “nightmare”. It was the afternoon of the rehearsal and I still hadn’t found what I was going to wear when I realized I still hadn’t picked up my dress from the shop – like, l was completely unaware if it had even been delivered yet. I raced over and somehow my florist was there and not the shop owner. She was like, ” yeah,we have your dress but we accidentally had all the lacing down the back and piping cut out”. the dress that was there was pastel pink, long sleeves with buttoned wrists and had a manderine neck line. WTF! I put it on, all the while yelling at my florist screaming about how I wanted a refund. Then my MOH who was the only other person there started yelling at me to hurry up so we could get to the rehearsal and was mad cause I wanted to change out of my wedding dress for it. According to her ( and my florist!) it was perfectly normal to wear your wedding dress the night before the wedding to the rehearsal. Then I woke up.
I was so irritated when I woke up I had to go sleep alone in the guest room.
