So I took my invitations to the post office and used their self-service scale to weigh them. Most came up at exactly 1.0 ounces and the others at 1.1 ounces (we used wax seals so I expected some variation). I sorted them by those weights. When I brought them up front to pay for postage, she started weighing them and they ALL came out to be 1.1. I explained to her that I had just used the other scaled and most of them came out to 1.0. They then had me weight them again on the self-service and show them that it did in fact say 1.0. They explained to me that it was calibrated wrong and then took them all in back to weigh them. They all came out to 1.05 ounces (0.05 ounces over the limit for one stamp). Is there anyway that I can pay for that exact amount? They told me I had to go up a step to the $0.66 cent stamps.
