I have my beautiful message-in-a-bottle save-the-dates ready to go. They’re boxed and addressed. The problem is that I’m not sure how I should add the $3.41 it costs to mail each one to the box. Are there any stamps that are >$1? I briefly browsed the USPS store and didn’t find anything, but I wasn’t sure if there were other resources.

@misskrayon: You could take them all into the post office and have them print out the postage necessary for all of them and pay them there.
Or you could to a bunch of vintage stamps all over the box (but that might be really time consuming).

Take all of them to the post office. They can print stamps in the exact amount you need ($3.41). You can also use the automated machines at the post office. They can weight the item and determine the cost and print one stamp with the exact postage on them.

I should have mentioned, I am not really into the way that the metered stamps looks.

You said you browsed usps, but did you see the $1 stamps? It jumps from one dollar to five dollars, but you could do a few one dollar stamps with some smaller ones, or there are some nice looking 0.75 and 0.80 stamps as well. They’d look nicer than the pink and white metered print out, anyway. 🙂

@misskrayon: I don’t think they have $1 stamps. But they do have $0.01 stamps and possibly $0.05 stamps. So that would be like 7 “44cent stamps”, 6 “5cent stamps”, and 3 “1cent stamps”. Sounds a little excessive to me. I would just get it metered. I’ll look online to see if there are stamps in other denominations.
EDIT: Baha, I just saw the post before me… apparently they have all types of denominations for stamps! I guess my secretary at work just buys the small denominations, sorry 🙂

My Post Master made a mistake when I took in my luggage tag STD’s…I took one stuffed envelope in, had it weighed and he told me 1.05…I bought the 1.00 stamp and the 5 cent one. Put them on all of my envelopes, then stuffed them and had FH take them back to the post office…………The Post Master guy told him, oh it isn’t 1.05, it is 1.39 (additional 34 cents) due to the fact that the luggage tag was not bendable……….I was already not happy about the mis-matched two stamps………now they were adding 3 more, yes 3 more. They made that decision without talking to me.
He offered to add the stamps, since it was his mistake – thank godness, I didn’t want to even see my envelope – had I been there, I would’ve just bought ONE 44 cent stamp and added it……..but everyone got them, loved the luggage tag and never even thought I was inviting them to join a stamp club. LOL
So yes, there are 1.00 and every other denomination available in stamps……..I have a bunch of 5 cent ones left over.
