I need some quick suggestions. My wedding invitations are signed, sealed and ready to be delivered but, the postage rates are increasing as of tomorrow! Do I mail then out today and have the guest add a .03 postage to thr response envelope? Or do I forfriet all of the postage I have on and in the envelopes to accommodate the rate increase?
*** My wedding in in April and I had my stamps customized through zazzle.com.

ooooh shitty. I think you should send them out as is, then spread word of mouth that they have to add the 3 cents postage. :/ Not optimal but I don’t think it’s reasonable to re open the envelopes and stuff. I think your guests would understand.

I would just send them out as is… it isn’t like anyone can’t afford to pay an extra $0.03 to mail them out and as long as you can make some calls people will know to not just pop them in the mailbox without paying extra. You could even scribble a small note on the back of the envelope explaining the additional costs.
I cannot imagine how expensive it’d be to reopen every single envelope, reorder envelopes that broke and then pay for postage all over again! No guest would want you to go through that hassle!

@JessicaJupiter: While I agree about the affordability of .03¢… there is the fact that the invitee has to actually buy the extra .03¢ stamp… not everyone will.
I would, definitely, call everyone and explain the situation. But, also be prepared for a higher-than-normal number of missing RSVPs.
