I saw the post earlier today about whether or not you think it’s “tacky” to post a picture of your engagement ring on Facebook.
I’ve never seen or heard of anyone doing this, but I’m curious! What would you think if someone posted a video of their ring on Facebook when they were newly engaged?

a video of the proposal would be cute, but a video of just the ring would be too much like QVC.

Part of me would like it because I am ALWAYS curious about what someone’s ring looks like when they get engaged.
But I’d never do it myself because I feel like it would be too much of a “look at me, look at what I have, give me compliments on it” thing.

Maybe its not the same thing but I *kind of* did this. My sister made a video for my engagement and posted it on facebook. She had shots from the day FH proposed and she had filmed the ring. It wasn’t a movie dedicated to the ring but it was still in there.

@MrsPinkPeony: I think a video of the couple that includes the ring would be totally cute!

i dont know about tacky but on lamebook people make fun of others that post 30+ pics of their ring so i suspect an actual video of a ring would be made fun of

Do you guys remember the 7 carat ring that was posted on here a while back? The owner linked a facebook video of it…
I thought it was very much approaching “T-word” status.

Honestly? If someone did that, I wouldn’t watch the video. However, it would be a safe bet that I would post a super snarky comment.

I posted a picture of my ring on facebook along with the annoucement that we got engaged. But, not a video of it. Pictures I don’t find tacky but a video would be a little odd.

It would be appropriate to post a video featuring just your ering if:
1. Your ering does any kind of tricks (juggling, dancing, cartwheels)
2. Your ering looks like Becks
3. hmmm…..nope – just two instances where that would ever be anywhere near okay. To me.

Yeah, I’d find a video pretty ridiculous. If I wanted to see it sparkle, I’d ask the girl to show me in person.

I’ve seen a video of the proposal and it was so cute! The groom was SO nervous and she was so oblivious to what was going on. It was so prefect.
Although, a video of a ring would definitely be kind of ridiculous….
