    I think sharing one single photo right after your announce your engagement is acceptable if not expected now-a-days. Now, posting a photo every other day “because the ring was sparkling like crazy on your drive to work” is just freaking obnoxious… and what Wedding Bee is for!

    I was really happy and wanted to brag! So I posted it.

    I love looking at all the rings! People are excited and I’m excited for them so show it off!

    This has been posted before on the Bee. You will have people who argue strongly in both directions. Personally, I did not put a photo up or even announce my engagement on Facebook. Just not my style. I don’t really see too many straight-up ring photos on my feed – more often a photo of the couple right after the engagement, etc.

    That said, if you want to put up a ring photo, I don’t care and I will probably “like” the photo if it showed up in my feed just to show how happy I am for the couple.

    One pic when you get engaged? Awesome!

    A entire folder updated weekly with your ring in new lights and on top of new objects? Not cool.

    @BrandNewBride:  +1!!!!!!!!

    I hate it when people constantly upload pictures of their ring on everything they thought would look cool (leaves, flowers, books, macaroons, on and on), but I love to see all those photos on weddingbee!

    If you go through the trouble of changing your relationship status and creating a FB post announcing your engagement you might as well show people what they want to see. The ring!

    @GretaMae316:  I think one picture when u get engaged is ok… Ur excited you want to share with everyone! And sometimes FB is easier than calling or texting people (other than immediate family of course!) the picture individually. Constantly posting pictures Of it… That’s kinda tacky

    I think posting a few when you first get engaged is fine.

    Honestly it would scare me. you never know who could see it and rob your house. Not to be too dramatic.

    Status and cost aside, it’s just plain weird to me to post pics outside of the day you got engaged, the day you got married, and maybe an anniversary or something.

    That’d be like me posting a picture of my diploma on the day of my graduation. And the day after. And the day after. And a week later. And it’s like–okay, we got it. You graduated.

    Same thing–okay, we got it. You’re engaged. Now can I go back to politics and silly kittens?

    I posted one after we got engaged. I knew that everyone was going to be asking about it, and so rather than send out texts with the picture, it just made more sense to post it. Obviously things like ring specs/cost I kept to myself.

    I think it is appropriate to include one with the couple.  That’s what we did.

    FI is a private man — I had a heck of a time researching (ahem, stalking…) him when we first met (online).  Since he has kept his online presence so quiet I feel obligated to do the same.  Just know he is a handsome fella!
