Thanks for the post Mrs. Bee but I think I'm still a total moron. Really, I am a clueless bee it seems ![]()
What else do I put in all the other boxes?
Also, when I tried to post a picture on another thread, I saw the picture inside my own text box, but then the picture didn't materialize when I saw the actual post.
Is there another way of doing this for those of us on Macs? In my world there is no such thing as right clicking!
Thanks for the more detailed instructions Mrs. Bee. I will try again and let you know if I am still having "issues"!
Okay, maybe I'm crazy.
I followed the instructions, I swear I did!
I used a picture I have on flickr.
I did the "tree" thing and inserted it. I saw it in my text window - no doubt. I typed my message (in the picture of you and mr. thread); I look at my post and see my message but not my picture.
Is it a flickr thing?
Here I go again, this time from Shutterfly: I'll try it in this thread and see how it goes...
miss petunia - shutterfly doesn't let you hotlink pix so it prolly won't work. try it with a picture from your blog?
and missblushing - i'll look into it. i don't know that much about macs. ![]()
I've had no luck with shutterfly or flickr...my blog pictures are uploaded from shutterfly, so thinking that may not work...but I will try Photobucket!
missblushing, try holding down the ctrl key while clicking on a link. that might work as a right-click for your mac.
Thanks, mrs. bee and amysue! I did the ctrl key while clicking, was able to "copy image address", but alas nothing shows up in my message when I follow the instructions above. But, in general I think computers just hate me, so I'll have to survive without posting photos!
hi MissBlushing -
your pic didn't show up because you have an extra letter at the end of the address! you know how most websites end in .com or .org? pictures should end in .jpg or .gif - yours has an extra J at the end and it's not allowing the picture to show up.
as for photobucket and flickr, i never used flickr, but with photobucket make sure to copy the ENTIRE address, as they are rather long.
I tried using a picture from my blogspot site, but it won't show. all i get is the broken image icon. it also says it's a .png image, could that be the problem?
Hi Mrs. Bee,
Is there any way to delete a post? I accidentally did it twice!!
Hi Mrs. Bee,
I'm still having problems uploading images to the boards. I followed your directions. I'm loading the images from Kodak Gallery. Does the site accept images from there? I'm not good at this. I need help adn I ended up loading it twice but still no images appear on my post, it shows on my end but not to the viewers.
We've added the ability to upload your own images! As long as they're 150k or under, it should be straightforward. :-)
Hi - I'm just testing this "tree link" with my shutterfly hosted pics. Here goes:
Second Try:
Hm... I guess I'll have to learn how to upload photos to Flikr or something...
you should make this a sticky for future reference. or put it on a newbee board?
I'm still having trouble posting, period. Hopefully this one shows up, testing...testing...
Hmmm...so I can see the image in the text box, but then it doesn't show up when I submit it!
<img src="/topic/%3Ca%20href=" border=" target = "_blank" rel="nofollow"0" />
" mce_src="
" alt="fw" border="" hspace="" vspace="" width="" height="" align="" />
Ok- can someone help me upload picture from flickr using a Mac??? =o)
I am having an issue uploading a picture into my DIY posting. I click on the tree and upload the photo and it inserts into the posting but when I submit the picture does not appear. I tried uploading it via file upload but then the jpeg was given a .doc extension and is not viewable.

I was just testing...sorry for the lame post.
This is just a test! I wanted to see if I could figure this out...

Just as an FYI, you can embed pictures into your classified and board listings by clicking on the tree image, and pasting the url of the image into the window that pops up. We don't allow direct image uploads, but you can host images for free on sites such as flickr, photobucket, xanga, blogger, etc.
Here is a tutorial:
1) Right click on the image, scroll down to properties, and click. The following window will pop up. Copy the url that appears after "address."
2. In your board or classified post, click the tree:
3. The following window will pop up. Paste the url that you previously copied into the "Image URL" field. Click "Insert." You don't need to fill out any of the other fields.
4. The image will now show up embedded in your post.
