For anyone that has not yet read about my dress saga, I already have a Lazaro dress in alterations with 5 weeks to go before the wedding, Beautiful dress, everyone loves it, but everytime I put in on I just want to take it off. I just cannot get used to the way it looks on me, I feel like I’m wearing body armor rather than a dress.
Dress #2- Marisa. Put a small deposit on the store sample few weeks ago. The store is an unorganized mess and they mixed up my alterations appt twice since then so nothing has been done to the dress so far. After driving there for 1.5 hours in traffic TWICE. So I’m having second thoughts about continuing with that, I don’t know if it’s worth the hassle and stress. I at least don’t feel fat in this dress but it’s not my dream WOW dress either.
And now potential Dress #3 – A Vera Wang from a bridal consignment shop, heavily discounted. I tried on this dress back in December and loved it, posted pics here with a poll between that and the Lazaro…And the Vera got overwhelming voted against (80 to 20%). So none of the Bees like it…My mom didn’t like it. And judging from the fact that it’s still for sale in the store after 4 months, nobody else likes it either. But other than the fact that it’s a bizarre color (latte) , I just love the way I look in it. It makes me feel like the bride image in my head. Am I crazy? Or just have bad taste?

EDIT – They said they can easily turn this into a sweetheart if I buy it. I asked because this used to be the biggest beef people seemed to have with the dress. I actually don’t mind it either way. The Lazaro has a beautiful sweetheart neckline, but this doesn’t make up for the fact that I look like a freakin linebacker in it!

You should really love the dress you’re in regardless of who likes it. If you love #3, everyone (atleast here) will be supportive of it! If people have a specific reason why they dislike it (like your mother), then she could suggest it be altered a bit.

Ok if I put a poll again probably it will go # 1 Lazaro #2 Marisa #3 Vera. But here are the other two dresses anyway.

Honestly it’s a nice dress, but really doesn’t do anything for you. You’ve got a great figure and this dress is kind of just there. I haven’t had a chance to see the Lazaro pictures so I can’t objectively declare that dress the winner.
But it’s your wedding and you have to wear what you feel comfortable in. Go with your gut b/c if you hate your wedding dress, it will show in your smile. Feeling beautiful and confident is how you want to be on your wedding day. Good luck!!!

I don’t like it as much as the Lazaro. I think it’s where the bodice meets the dress that looks strange to me. In my opinion, the Lazaro flatters your body so much more.

Whoa….I just saw the pics you posted and I *really* like the Marisa. GORGEOUS!!!

My suggestion, if you have the #3 dress altered to fit very formed around your curves, then I don’t see how it wouldn’t look very good. I also think a sweet heart neckline would be lovely on it!

The Vera is really nice, but it cuts you off weirdly, but I like it 10x better than the Lazaro. My favorite is the Marisa. It’s extremely flattering and so romantic. Honestly, though, it’s whatever makes you feel comfortable and beautiful on your wedding day. You do look great in the Vera as well.

I just think #3 in the pictures doesn’t look as well as it would if it was taken in more…

Honestly, the Marisa is 1000x better than both the others. The Vera cuts you off in a weird way. But, for real, if you love it then get it. It’s your wedding dress.

WOAH. That Marissa dress is f*cking gorgeous. (Sorry, I swear like a sailor).
Usually I tell a bride who has already bought her dress to try and be happy with what she has chosen and stop shopping! But you seem okay with spending the money on another dress, so I’m gonna give you my honest opinion!
It adds weight to your waist, the fabric looks very thick and clunky, it doesn’t hug your curves, the dropped waist in the back is unflattering, I dislike that beaded trellis effect going on across your stomach. You are obviously a tiny little thing, and that dress adds 10 pounds to you.
I also don’t love the Vera either. I like the color actually, and I usually love Vera dresses, but something about the fit is off. It looks like it needs to be taken in at the bust maybe? I can’t put my finger on it, but the Vera isn’t doing it for me.
But Holy Couture, Batman! That Marissa dress is like angels singing, gates-of-Heaven-opening, Christian Louboutin stilettos at 90% off and in your size- AMAZING. IT IS AMAZING.
That is your dress.

I think the color will make you stand out beautifully. I really dislike dress #1 and dress #2 is just a little strange. #3 looks great on you! I do however agree with the sweetheart neckline 🙂

I like the Lazaro. I think you have a really great figure and it highlights that. My next favorite is the Marisa. But, like the previous posters have said, you need to feel comfortable in whatever dress you choose.

Yeah I’m size 2 and both the Vera and the Marisa are sample size 10. Lazaro was supposedly *custom* ordered for my body but it’s a size 6 and I’m swimming in it, grrr… The waist just looks too bulky no matter how much they try to alter it.
