Would you say yes to being a bridesmaid knowing one of the other bridesmaid was someone you strongly disliked – like said terribly rude things about you and your SO, etc?
Also, if you were the bride would you try to pick bridesmaids that got along?
Thanks for the input. I would love to support my friend and be the bigger person, but I have never disliked anyone as much as this other girl and I’m the type who gets along with everyone. I almost want to tell my friend to pick someone else even though I would be sad to give up being her bridesmaid. Not to sound childish, but I feel like there would be a lot of hostility and tension if I said yes and I wouldn’t want to bring that type of energy to my friend’s wedding.

I would say yes because it’s about the bride, not the feud. You don’t have to do anything with the other girl, only be nice and act like an adult. You shouldn’t have to not support a friend because someone says bad things about you.
However, if you think you cannot complete the duties of a bridesmaid because of your history with this girl, I would back down but I would keep the bride out of it.

@Pupperoni: Thanks for the reply. I understand it’s about the bride which is why I wonder if this would be a good idea. I would not want to ruin her day in any way. And it’s not me I’m worried about, it is the other girl and her ability to be civil. I am confident I can fulfill my duties without any problems, but I guess what I’m trying to do by turning her down is to prevent any problems versus doing possible damage control on the biggest day of her life because of this other girl.

we actually have 3 groomsmen that we are concerned over. Two of them are really upset and jealous they are not the best man. two have actually had arguments before.. since my Fiance and I dont live in the same state as his friends, when we were visiting last time the two got into it.. I am hoping they will just respect that this is our day and to be nice!
I sware boys are sometimes more drama then us girls! 🙂
