I think that’s a pretty good price.  As someone who has shopped for mailboxes for a hosue before, they are expensive.  They are designed to withstand the elements.  For what you are using it for, it doesn’t have to.  If you’re going to want to use something that was made to hang on a house for your wedding card box, you’ll probably have to pay at least $50.  Any chance you can repurpose it after the wedding for your home’s mailbox?

Maybe trim off the little legs on the Lowes one and spray paint it silver?

I LOVE the PB one! If you can use it on your house afterwards, I’d buy that sucker in a heartbeat. The style is just awesome. I think $50 is reasonable.

I would also be sure to replace it with a different mailbox before selling my house! That could be a really great family piece you carry with you from house to house (assuming they have on-house mail, but even if they don’t, you could still use it inside or something).
