I’m just curious. I’m someone who doesn’t wear rings most of the time and I have a friend who had her husband wear a cheap band during their engagment so that he can get accustom to wearing a ring and the way it feels. I’m thinking about wearing one of my plain rings I own during my times at home so I can get used to the feeling and don’t end up taking off my engagment ring (in a few months) off all the time due to irritation. Would this help?

idk i never wore rings before my engagement ring and did fine getting used to it. i don’t think a practice ring is necessary

@li612: +1 I never wore rings at all prior to becoming engaged. It was weird at first but it never got irritating and I got used to it pretty quickly.

Thanks for the advice! Hopefully I’ll just get used to the feeling of wearing Love in the form of a ring lol

I think you’ll be fine without practicing 🙂 rings aren’t meant to be too noticeable or intrusive to everyday life (unless it’s not a great fit) , I went from nothing to a rhr being worn everyday and it wasn’t an issue, I still notice it but then I just take a second to admire it lol

You should be fine without practicing. I never wore rings before I got engaged and at first it felt a little funny but I got used to it pretty quickly. Now, if I don’t have my ring on that finger it feels so weird!!

I’m actually a tiny bit superstitious and don’t wear any other rings on my left ring finger – I read somewhere once that if there’s already a ring there, there wasn’t a need for another (ering/wedding band) ring in the future. Probably just an old wive’s tale but I don’t want to take any chances LOL! i kinda feel like that finger is reserved for when I’m engaged/married so until I am, it’ll remain bare.

I have a feeling that it’s bad luck lol

I wore rings on my other fingers all the time before I got engaged but it was still really weird to have something on that finger! I got used to it pretty quick though. I don’t see why a practice ring would be needed- you’d take the same amount of time getting used to that, so why bother?

@lovelymuse: As soon as you start wearing it for real, it will feel natural! Just wait for the real thing.
