With 8 days to go… my mom must’ve taken some happy pills or something, she called me today with a card to use to pay the balance on our reception (the dinners and cocktail hour food) AND a little bit more towards cocktail hour drinks.
We were only going to host beer for that hour, but she gave us a little towards that and asked that we offer wine as well.
She also offered to pay for the flowers, which she fought me on for 6 weeks.
I think I just exhaled for the first time in 2 months since she cut the amount she told us she was giving us in about half, after all our arrangements were made and booked.
This now fully breathing bride is glad she didn’t cancel her honeymoon after all. We downgraded hotels and the intinerary, but now at least I’m pretty confident we’ll be able to eat that week 🙂

That is GREAT news. You know, I keep secretely hoping one of our parents will decide to give us a nice gift at the last minute too. Not expected but what a great surprise that would be!

Isn’t it funny how moms can be that way? My mom originally told us we got $1000, and that was it. We accepted thankfully and figured we were on our own. Now, two weeks before my wedding, she is calling the caterer to upgrade linen, drink, etc choices, getting us a DJ (we were planning an IPOD wedding) and helping with any number of other smaller things, monetarily. All of a sudden we don’t have to worry much about the money. Phew!!!
Yay for moms pitching in! =)

Thanks ladies – yes, it’s awesome and a HUGE sigh of relief since after we booked everything she cut her contribution into less than half and we were stressing.
Ahhhhhh. People will be fed, they can now have a beer during cocktail hour…and I can sleep.
