I live in the United States.
I am shocked and saddened by what happened in Canada yesterday, with someone killing the soldier and trying to attack Parliament. My thoughts our with all of you Canadian bees as your country grapples with this senseless violence.

Thank you so much for your kind words Carolsays: It’s been a hard 24 hours for a lot of us, but it helps to know our neighbours to the south are thinking of us.

Carolsays: I agree with the PP. It’s been a tough few days.
I have to admit, I cried watching the coverage of the Flyers/Penguin game. When the crowd started singing O’ Canada I lost it. It was very touching.

Carolsays: Thanks for your kinds words. I’m on the other side of the country, but it’s hard to watch something that this happen in your own country. I teared up watching Sergeant-at-arms Kevin Vickers walk into parliament today and all the MPs giving him a standing ovation. The day could have ended very differently without him.
I heard on the news today that Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was a single father. I really feel for his son.

Thank you for your thoughts. I too am on the other side of the country, but it was a little scary seeing it on TV, and all the people crowding around to watch the TV where I was getting my car serviced, which is where I found out. Seeing pictures of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was heartbreaking, he had a warm and genuine smile. My thoughts are with his family and friends, especially his son.

Carolsays: Thanks 🙂
my dad and stepmom spent all day in lockdown in their offices. My dad’s office is less than 2 blocks from the shootings. It was pretty terrifying.
Thankfully, as tragic as what happened is, it could have been much much worse.
My big fear now is that there’s a bigger plan. There was a gunman caught in Halifax this morning too and there was the attack on monday in Quebec. I hope this is all unrelated, but part of me is scared it’s not.
