I am sorry you and your family/friends are going through this.
You will be in my thoughts.
Thank you ladies. We just got an email asking for help evacuating some friends who are further inland. This is the one time that I am grateful for my ugly truck with a huge bed.
@tksjewelry: You are a God-send...helping others in need is a beautiful thing. You will all be in my prayers, as I know "we" Missourian's continue to need prayers due to the recent tornadic activity and the ongoing flooding. Thank you!
I hadn't heard. I will definitely be praying! That is sooo hard. I think you are an amazing giving person to be doing this.
@melisslp - we have friends in Joplin, who are safe and their homes were only slightly damaged. We don't yet know how our cabin faired or our neighbors at the lake as tornados hit the area the day after the Joplin tornado.
@tksjewelry: So glad to hear that your friends are safe. Hope that everything is okay at the lake. Hugs!

Please pray for the families along the Mighty Missouri River who are loosing their homes and livelihoods. I have been really absent the last few weeks for WB as we have been helping friends save their possessions from the rising river waters, but their are so many others who will loose everything.
Cities all along the Missouri have yet to be told that they will flood, whole towns are going to be flooded and the flood waters are expected to remain at that level for up to 6 months.
In my own town, the flood gates have been installed but the river is expected to be at least 8 feet above them. Our home is 10 miles from the river, but our whole downtown area is expected to be under water by the end of the month. We have had to make back up plans for our wedding as our wedding facilities may either be flooded or impossible to get to.
As of yet, there has been little to nothing on the news to tell anyone what is going on. Towns are not being evacuated. It was only yesterday that the sheriff came by our friends house to tell them to get out - duh the house was empty. Our best man reads the river well and already knew to get out, they had only just finished building their home three weeks ago and now it belongs to the river.
The Core of Engineers has made no statements on what is happening, yet farmers and business all along the river are leaving, power plants are sand bagged, water treatment facilities are sand bagged, and emergency agencies are preparing and have set up shelters - yet city and state agencies say nothing.
This years flooding is showing to be the worst in 100 years, we in the heartland need all the prayers you can muster.
