I think those sound good overall- they are pretty similar to mine!
Here is the link to the thread I started with my prayers of the faithful at the end.
Some of yours might be a little long. I had 7, which may have been too much, but I wanted to pray for those things, so I kept them all in.
Some ideas for making yours a little less wordy:
First one: Take out one or two sentences (like the children's children or one of the petitions for God's blessing since you say it twice).
Second one: eliminate the second line.
Third: I like it.
Fourth: I like it.
Fifth: That one just doesn't read right to me. "may eternal rest grant unto them" might be missing a subject.
Sixth: You can easily shorten that one by deleting the specifics and just say for all those who suffer.
Seventh: I like it.
I found that reading them aloud and having someone else read them aloud so I could hear them helped me pare them down a bit so I got my point across, in less words, which actually made them clearer.
These are just ideas, and I think if you feel strongly about some of the wording, you should keep it that way, even if it may be a little long. It is a prayer, after all. Good luck :)
@Jacqi: Great suggestions. I took them all! I actually just removed the sixth one all together. Thanks
did you guys get to write your own? maybe i missed that part in the book..i chose one of theirs but i would love to tweek it...ill have to go back and read it again haha.
(never follows directions)

@totheislnds:Actually I only heard about writing our own on the Bee. Thanks bee! So I asked my priest about it, and he said that was fine. It was really important for me to be able to have a prayer about firefighters, as well as remembering lost loved ones by name.
Another thing I learned, is that you don't have to use the entire reading. So for the 2nd reading, we are using the first Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians. However, we cut the first few lines, because I didn't like the "clashing symbol" part. Below is the only part being read:
Love is patient, love is kind.
It is not jealous, is not pompous,
it is not inflated, it is not rude,
it does not seek its own interests,
it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
The word of the Lord.
@magilnyc: this is great! i had no idea, im def going to ask our priest about it!
i didnt care much for the clashing symbol part either. I really like how they give us the book though so we can pick and choose, FI sat down and read them to each other the other night, i was almost in tears haha. ill never make it through the ceremony without crying
thank you so much for sharing, this is beautiful and if we're allowed to, I'm totally going to ask if we can have our own too!

I think I am done with writing our Prayers of the Faithful. Question: Are they too long?
Hope this helps others writing their own:
The response will be “Lord, hear our prayer.”
For name and name, who begin married life today. May God be with you and bless you. May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortunes and rich in blessings. May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward. We pray to the Lord.
For the Church,
for fidelity in proclaiming the gospel, for faith in good times and in bad,
May you lead us and guide us in the search for goodness, peace and joy.
We pray to the Lord.
For those in our fire department and our military who selflessly put their lives on the line to protect our city and our country. May God always bless you, watch over you and protect you and bring you home safely to your loved ones. We pray to the Lord.
For the married couples among us who have been a source of inspiration and encouragement in name and name's own journey towards marriage. May you savor the joy of being together, and find the love you hold for each other deepen each day. We pray to the Lord.
For the departed, who remain with us in our prayers and our memories, especially : (Insert names here) may eternal rest grant unto them, and let perpetual light shine upon them. We pray to the Lord.
For the world and all peoples, for those without food, shelter, or clothing; for those without hope, joy, or peace: May we be a word of comfort for them and a sign of Christ’s abundant love. We pray to the Lord.
For all those gathered here on this joyous occasion, that you may continue to support name and name with your friendship and love throughout their lives.
We pray to the Lord.
