Going tomorrow as well! From what I heard, we will write a note to our future spouse and discuss what would we do if issues came up . For example, how much is your spouse able to spend without telling you. I've been told to sit near people who look compatible with you because you'll be sharing a lot with them. Good luck to us!

Haven't gone yet. I've heard horror stories (the sex talk) and great stories (how to deal with arguments).

Please let us know how it goes.

We're doing ours online -- but we've really enjoyed it!  You learn a lot about marriage in the context of the Church and also a lot about communication!  No worries -- you'll be fine! The couples who run it are usually great!

Our NFP classes start next week though and I am nervous about that -- just because I'm not so anxious to talk about all that in a group of people ;)

I'm really excited for our Pre-Cana work. Every part is a little different. Are you talking about the weekend "retreat" all day deal? My FI and I aren't doing that until January. We just registered for it.

However, I have two sets of aunts/uncles who are marriage prep counselors at their churches. Most of the prep work is talking about topics you didn't cover before you started the church prep classes/meetings (like the ones on your first "personality" survey that you had opposite answers). But I love self reflection type stuff, so I'm looking forward to it.

We actually have to meet with a certified marriage counselor to talk for a few visits instead of meeting with the priest. Are you meeting with your priest or another couple or an outside group like a marriage counselor?

I'm not really sure what is going to happen.  We got a letter in the mail saying that we will listen to other couples and only talk with our spouse there won't be any group discussions.  We were trying to do the whole day ordeal but it wasn't available so we had to break it up b/t tonight for 2 hours and 5 hours tomm. afternoon.  I'm kinda nervous but at least I only have to talk to my FH who already knows everything (I think lol).  I will keep everyone updated when i get back tonight.  Thanks for all your support and information :)

Just came back from it and it was actually enjoyable. The presenters gave lots of tips (some common sense, others interesting), we took lots of quizzes (then talked about them), wrote a letter to each other, and did do some group work, but not much. It actually was shorter than it said it was going to be. The day just affirmed lots of things!

hello everyone I just got back a couple hours ago.  The priest talked for a couple minutes, then a married couple talked about communication then we answered questions about communication sep. then came together and talked to each other about our answers.  Then the second couple talked about danger signs in a relationship and then we did the same break n meet up thing.  Then the priest talked for a couple more minutes telling us what we would be doing tomm. and we would end with a mass and get our ceritficates.  Overall, I don't think it was bad (FH thought it was silly, but he had never heard of all), and a bonus we got out an hour early!!  Smile  Hope this helps anyone who hasn't gone yet, I will post again on what we do tomm.
