I think if you have asked them for their address, they will be expecting to have an invitation coming in the mail...
If you get addresses quick, you could send holiday of your choice cards - might cover up for anyone on a B list.
This is a bit sneaky though, all about your comfort level.
I think right now is the best time of year to ask for an address. You could easily say it's for Christmas cards, if a B lister were to ask.
Thanks! I'm in total Christmas mode and bought my cards (finally, was waiting for the sale to come up) and have been collecting addresses I won't need for a while :)

We haven't sent out STDs yet, let alone invitations, but have been asking for some people's addresses (obviously those are necessary). We're one of those couples that'll have to make a "list A" and "list B" to fill spots as people RSVP no. So if we ask for an address, are we required to send a STD? I'm sure that would be the nice thing to do, but is there an official etiquette on this?
