I got the urge! and i did it! :) nothing too drastic like the pixie above, but i got some serious layers chopped in. It technically took a lot of length out, but it looked SO MUCH BETTER than long bridal grow out hair that I didn't care.
Yes! But I hate myself with short hair. I always regret it, and it takes forever to grow back. I have worn my hair long for going on 6 years and I have reached that stage of boredom, though. I kind of want to cut in some shoulder length layers, but even that would be pretty short. I just took like 2 inches off and am still adjusting. (My hair is long enough but not so long that 2 inches doens't make a difference.) I would be afraid it wouldn't be long enough in time for the wedding, though, so I probably will wait till after!
Oh.My.God. Yes. I'm struggling with this right now. My hair is long and sort of...flat, and I am dead BORED with it.
I say CHOP IT! There are a ton of gorgeous short hair brides, you don't have to have long hair and an updo to be a bride!
Wow, I was just thinking about this earlier today, when I was looking at my sad split ends and the limpness I call my hair right now. I think I am going to make an appointment when I get home from work...
I think I need to find some short hair bridal inspiration! Or a short haired bride with good extensions at least! ;)
I just look at my hair on a humid day like today and it's long, and flat and boring. But I'm scared I'll regret it come wedding day. Not to mention I'm really digging the top knot right now!
maybe you should start wearing a high bun in your regular life to make you happy! As long as you don't wear the dress too, i think it could work in everyday life :)
I couldn't stand it any more, so I chopped mine a few weeks ago! It had been down to my shoulders and I got it brought back up to my chin.
It will grow out again in time for the wedding (thank goodness for hair that grows super fast). I just couldn't handle it for a minute longer!
i wanted to b/c i hate my hair long. i had to tell myself that i was also growing it to donate it, b/c i couldn't justify growing out my hair just for my wedding. so i left it alone and it's been 3 months since the wedding and i'm still waiting to chop it off! soon though.
I hate short hair on myself...and with curly hair the hairdo u suggested would never ever cross my mind. But what i really want is a trim however i have to wait 1-2 more months and do it a month or less before the wedding i want my curls to have that fresh cut bounce on the day..i do however been feeling tempted to get a side bang again...
I say be WHO u r on ur wedding day..not a long hair lover like me? Y BE like that on ur wedding day. it is important to look like urself on ur big day...i would think some more about it thu...
I love my hair long..my So loves it long everybody loves my hair long..i am not even having the curls soften up for the day hate having to look back at my wedding pictures and say.."ohh but normally my hair is more curly" or if i went with an up do it will not be me i do wear my hair up here and there for fun..but when me or anybody think about me..it is long dark curly or wavy hair..
so what about u? what hair is YOU? go with that :)
I really want to and am soooo sick of growing my hair out---but my stylist refuses to do it until after the wedding. She thinks I'll regret it, and there will be no going back... *sigh*
So, instead, I'm doing it the week afterwards as a post-wedding treat. :)
I went through this phase about 2 months ago. All I could think about was cutting my hair back short again, it consumed my whole life! I gathered pictures together and brought this home to my fiance, who told me I could do whatever I wanted with my hair. Sidenote: I promised him I would grow my hair out for the wedding because he had never seen it long on me before. He saw I wasn't happy with it, so he let me go from my promise :)
But my friends, my family, everyone basically told me to stick it out until the wedding. Better to have the option to cut it later, than cut it before the wedding and hate it! Plus, like Oakster, my stylist-who is also doing my hair the day of-refuses to cut it prior to the wedding.
But at this point, 9 days from the wedding, I am glad I didn't cut my hair. The feeling has subsided, for however brief a time, and I feel better knowing I kept my promise to my fiance. But needless to say, I will be seriously cutting my hair when we get home from the honeymoon...appointment is already scheduled!
I had hair that was getting quite long--to the point where I had been talking for several months about cutting it to roughly collarbone length (which would be about 7 inches off). I finally bit the bullet last weekend and got it cut...and she cut 3 extra inches off! So now I'm going to be extra-cautious for a long time about haircuts, sigh. My advice would be to wait for the pixie until after the wedding, but take that with many grains of salt since I'm a coward and just now going through too-short messed-up-haircut pain!
@oakster -- That's so funny! Hopefully you will thank your stylist after the fact :-)
I am *dying* to chop off my hair, but I've made it this long, and we're only 2.5 months out from the wedding now... so I've decided to stick it out.
I've been growing mine out for just under a year at this point. I had been growing it out since Oct 2008 but decided last June that I couldn't handle it and chopped it off. I haven't had so much as a trim since then either. I'm afraid that if I go get it trimmed up that I may just have them chop it back off. He adores long hair and while I don't plan on wearing it down I do plan on an updo that I adore. I know that a few days after everything is said and done I will have it chopped off.
I did it!! i had been growing my hair out for over a year. I wanted it cut. I still have a year for the wedding so I went for it! You better do it now before it's too late!!! You still have enough time to grow it out to some length!!

I have been growing out my hair since we started talking about getting married two years ago. I realize now that this may have been a little overkill on my part. Because I am now dying to chop all my hair off and do this:
Or this:
It's getting really hard to resist, and I have a year to go! I keep telling myself that I will chop it all off after the wedding, but I want to do it now...
Anyone else get the urge?
