We all want to look our best on our wedding day, and part of that means avoiding stupid injuries that will either show up in pictures or otherwise impede our ability to enjoy the whole thing. Well, for some of us that is harder than for others!
Fi and I are part of a running club that does a LOT of off-roading. And off-trailing. Bushwhacking, you might call it. We had a big event on Saturday and after running through the woods all day, my arms are a little bit shredded. But I’m not worried, because I still have nearly 8 weeks to heal. When the date gets closer, I plan to be a lot more careful, maybe walking trails instead of running them and trying to avoid the worst of the bushwhacking. I DEFINITELY don’t want to get a big bad case of poison ivy for my wedding pictures, either.
But it may already be too late for me to avoid injuries. Haha in addition to my scratched-up, easily-healed arms, I tripped on a root at one point (after 10 miles you start getting tired!) and jammed my big toe. Two days later, it still hurts and is starting to turn colors. Aye, the prognosis for Mr. Big Toenail is not good. It’ll probably fall off within the next couple weeks, and won’t grow back in time for my peep-toe sandals at the wedding. Haha I’ll have to either get a fake nail to glue on there in its place, or else just paint the skin with nail polish so it’s not so obvious. What an idiot I am!
Anyone else have any funny wedding-injury stories to share? I can’t help but be reminded of Meet the Parents, when the sister got her nose broken playing volleyball. Guess I’d definitely rather just be short a toenail!
Be careful out there ladies!!!!! 😉
