Any chance you could mention it to one of the first people who stop by your desk that morning with their child that they brought to work? After you meet them, you could casually mention that next year, you'll be able to bring your child to work to show him/her off! I found in our office, when you tell one person, they make a commotion and everyone else wants to see what's going on!
Either that, or maybe wear a little pin that says "Future Baby to Bring to Work" with a little arrow?? Hehe...
Just hang a sign on your cublicle or desk area that says "Future Bring Your Child to work participant, 9 months and counting"
Aww I think that's an awesome idea!!
I love ktisthatbees idea! Congratulations Mommy-to-be! :)
my husband's company has you submit the kids' photos for badges, and he submitted an ultrasound and wore the badge ;)
Thanks everyone! You all had such cute ideas. I ended up bringing in some treats and sending the following email. It went over very well! No more awkward trying to hide my bump :)
Dear Friends,
In honor of Take Your Child To Work Day, I brought my (future) child to work today. Actually, I've been bringing my child to work every day for 3 months, which some of you may have noticed...Yep, I've got a bun in the oven!
And to celebrate, there are mini scones and brownies at my desk! Help yourself to a treat :)
This was such a great idea and I really love the way you worded the email! I feel like it would take a lot of the stress off of having to make a verbal announcement. I won't be telling my coworkers for a few more weeks, but I'm already stressing trying to think of how to do it. The last girl who announced her pregnancy got *flocked* and people were fawning all over her, etc. I'm shy already and it just feels strange because we normally act so much more...professionally toward each other. Now I'm jealous that we don't have a Take Your Child To Work Day.
Ahh! This post made me want to cry a little! Congrats! Plus, who doesn't love brownies and scones!

I am finally ready to announce my pregnancy to my co-workers. Tomorrow is Bring Your Child to Work Day in my office, so I was thinking it might be fun to announce it tomorrow. Does anybody have any ideas that are fun but not too cheesy or unprofessional?
For reference, my office is a large open office workspace with about 250 employees. I already told my boss and HR, but they sit on another floor. Now I want to announce it to the people I am friendly with, those who sit nearby my desk but are not on my project team. They are all on another team and so they have announced their pregnancies at their team meeting (which I don't attend) so I have no precedent for how they did it.
