Any recommendations on books for dad-to-be? Lots out there for pregnant women, of course but the choices are limited for dads.
My husband got sent last minute on a deployment for three months, and he’ll be back when I’m around 5 months. I’d like to send him a book to kind of keep him in the loop!

@NewfieBullet: My husband liked My Boys Can Swim by Ian Davis (nice short read). My husband was actually laughing out loud at times. I also got him The Caveman’s Pregnancy Companion, but he hasn’t read it, but I hear it is really good. I wanted funny ones because my husband hates to read and needs to be entertained.

I got my husband the following…although I guess it’s more about preparing to be a dad advice:
The Baby Owner’s Manual: Operating Instructions, Trouble-Shooting Tips, and Advice on First-Year Maintenance – http://www.amazon.com/dp/1594745978/ref=pe_175190_21431760_M3T1_ST1_dp_2
Be Prepared: A Practical Handbook for New Dads – http://www.amazon.com/dp/0743251547/ref=pe_175190_21431760_M3T1_ST1_dp_3
Dad is Fat – http://www.amazon.com/Dad-Fat-Jim-Gaffigan/dp/038534905X/ref=sr_1_1_title_1_har <— This one is more for entertainment purposes =)

I got my husband the book, “Dude, You’re Gonna Be a Dad!” to let him know we were pregnant. It’s pretty entertaining and he laughs and reads parts to me sometimes. He definitely likes it better than some of the pregnancy books out there that are supposed to be geared toward both men and women but end up being scary for men 🙂

My husband was actually volunteerily looking for a book to read that was geared towards men and I got him Dude Your Gonna Be a Dad and also Dadlabs: Guide to Fatherhood. http://www.amazon.com/DadLabs-Guide-Fatherhood-Clay-Nichols/dp/1594743185 I scanned both and I really liked the Dadlab book. It’s written by 4 male friends who have 9 children between all of them. It’s a great writting style and an easy, but informative read. :o)

DH has the Dad’s Guide to Pregnancy for Dummies and Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan. Both get A+ reviews in our house and DH is not a reader.
