I’ve only been engaged 2 months (wedding is still 22 months away!) and I am suddenly totally fascinated by pregnancy!!
The whole idea of it is so cool, and I’ve been reading blogs, set up a secret pregnancy pinterest board, and started watching Ellie and Jared’s pregnancy vlog on Youtube. (Seriously, I am suddenly addicted to vlogs. Somehow the fact that Ellie is my age isn’t helping matters.) I also have one friend who recently had a baby (I asked her endless pregnancy questions) and my best friend wants to get pregnant next year.
BUT I am nowhere near interested in having an actual baby right now. Baby clothes and items don’t interest me too much, but I could read all day about morning sickness cures and BFP stories! I’m thinking as we get a little more settled and closer to the wedding I’ll be more interested in the potential outcome of a pregnancy 🙂
Did anyone else go through this?! Because I feel like I’m just weird. Haha

@aquarius_91: YES YES YES!!! I’m glad I am not the only one!! I tell my husband, I’m ready to try pregnancy and see what it’s like and experience it, I just don’t know if I’m ready for what happens after!!!

@aquarius_91: I would like to experince preganancy but I am in no way interested in having a baby lol So you are not alone! Pregnancy is just so beautiful and very compelling 🙂

I am the opposite! I am ready to flash forward 7 months and get to hold my little nugget! Or at least flash forward through morning sickness! Obviously I am pregnant and my opinion shouldnt count on this board!
I will say though, it takes awhile to register that you are in fact having a baby. It is really easy to focus on being pregnant!

Once you’re in your first trimester and hugging the toilet you’ll be wondering why you ever wished for it!! Haha

@aquarius_91: I can totally relate, hahah thought I was the only one!! Super scared about having an actual human being to look after, but pregnancy seems fun!
…Of course, most pregnant women I know would disagree and are counting down the days til it’s over!

Haha, I always had baby fever (not pregnancy fever), but now that I’m pregnant, I’m torn!
Half of me wants to just stay pregnant forever (if she doesn’t come out she can’t have sex or drink booze or get kidnapped/sold into human trafficking!), and the other half of me is like “GET HER OUT I CAN’T SLEEP I CAN’T BREATHE AND I HURT EVERYWHERE”
I’m 32 weeks! So I’m trying to enjoy it while it lasts!

I’m the opposite. I want a baby but pregnancy scares the life out of me!

@KateByDesign: +1 There is nothing glamorous about being pregnant! Although, I might not be the best example since I haven’t really enjoyed pregnancy at all. Feeling those kicks is pretty awesome, though! 🙂

I loved being pregnant. Not so much the morning sickness, but the fact of being pregnant ? loved it ! Any aches, pains etc are worth it when you hold the baby

@aquarius_91: Be careful what you wish for if you’ve never experienced it, lol. I was quick to say I wanted to be pregnant too. While I had easy first trimester with no sickness (and I was all “hey this is easy. I don’t know what everyone complains about.”), I am now paying for it with cold sores, bleeding gums, round ligament pain, sleep deprivation, and cramps in my legs and feet.
I will tell you though, when it is good it is very, very good. You do get this cute little bump and even while I am sitting here my little man has kicked and moved several times. He enjoys when I eat breakfast 🙂
I’m more anxious to meet him than carry him despite the fact that the kicks are cool.

So glad I am not the only one!! I definitely thought I was crazy haha.
This is going to sound ridiculous too, but when I get the flu or something right now, it’s just like “Oh…cool, I have the flu. And it sucks.” But (at least in a healthy pregnancy) all of those symptoms add up to something GOOD happening in your body! It’s the coolest thing!
But yeah, when it switches and I am actually more interested in raising a human than growing one, it’ll hopefully be about time to get TTC’ing. 😉

@KateByDesign: Oh, I can guarantee you I’ll be wondering the same thing! It’s all good and fun when I’m sitting here NOT creating a baby 🙂
@BrandNewBride: Congrats!! You’re almost there!!
@megz06: I know I’ll be kicking myself later haha. But I’ve always wanted to be a mom, so those annoyances will definitely be worth it! Congrats on your little one due this spring!

Yes I’ve always been fascinated with pregnancy! Hence I ended up becoming a maternity nurse! I also have wanted to be mommy for as long as I can remember though. I think it’s wonderful that you look forward to pregnancy, both the good and the bad, and I don’t think you’ll regret a thing when the time does come. Since it seems you know a good idea of what to expect 🙂

I am so very thankful for my little peanut but no pregnancy is not glamorous and I am only six weeks in. I have never liked the idea of pregnancy though…just give me the baby. 🙂
