Okay bees, I need someone to either talk me down from the ledge I’m on, totally freaking out, or confirm that I should be worried and should call me doctor…
I estimate that I’m about 8 weeks pregnant (although it could be a bit further along than that, my last period was mid-July but I am absolutely sure we conceived the week of August 12th). I’ve been having horrible morning sickness, soreness in my breasts, the works. As recently as last night I was throwing up.
Today, all of those symptoms seem to have disappeared, and I’m having very sharp cramps – which I’ve been having pretty much throughout the pregnancy, but they seem to be worse today. My first doctor appointment isn’t until next week and I just want to know that there is a heartbeat, that it is a viable pregnancy. I don’t know why I’m so freaked out about this, but I am. And there is nowhere around here I can go to have an ultrasound done now to verify anything for me. I feel like I shouldn’t call my midwife because they don’t do ultrasounds this early, and besides I’ve called her twice in the last week for different things, I don’t want her to start thinking I’m nuts when she hasn’t even met me!
Am I freaking out about nothing? Should I call my doctor? Or should I drive an hour or so to get to a place that can do an ultrasound and put my worries at ease?
ETA: I have a phone appointment tomorrow morning with a nurse, should I wait till then and just express my concerns to her?

Call your doctor. Nothing else will put your mind at ease.

@Wonderstruck: I think you should call your doctor or midwife anyway BUT…. I did have the same thing happen at 8 weeks and it came back the next day. Everything was fine.

I’d call your doctor. Nothing we can say is going to make you feel better.
HOWEVER, I CAN tell you that I posted something very similar a few months back. I completely lost all my symptoms, except for cramping. I’m now 20w pregnant.
Just take a deep breath and call your doc! Best wishes!

I would call your doctor immediately. The sharp cramps are what worry me…you shouldn’t be having sharp cramps or pains!

I would call your doctor. I really don’t mean to worry you but I had a similar thing happen to me. I was about 8 weeks pregnant and my symptoms all of a sudden stopped, They didn’t come back and I had cramps mildly for 3 days until I finally had a miscarriage. Now please don’t freak out, I’m not saying in anyway this is what’s happening to you. Like previous posters said this has happened to them and they were fine. I would just call the doctor to put your mind at ease, the worst thing you could do is stress and worry about this.

When I was preggo I had these magical days with no symptoms that terrified me. But I now have a very healthy 1 year old. Don’t stress but call your doctor to put yourself at ease.

Well, I never ended up getting a chance to call the doctor today…because a wave of naseau hit and I spent a big chunk of time throwing up. So much for my pregnancy symptoms being gone! I’m still feeling a bit worried about the pains, but I think they are possibly gas-related (sorry, super gross and embarassing to write about, but I do think that’s what was causing it). So I’m going to talk to the nurse tomorrow but am trying to calm down a bit for now.

@Wonderstruck: Sounds exactly like me. I’m sure you are fine. I had the exact same freak out at same time. I also had terrible gas pains that often felt like cramps. 🙂

I am glad to read that many of you have cramps too because I just got my BFP this weekend and I have been having cramps today but all of a sudden I am having more neasea.
If I am not mistaken, I had cramps up until my third month with my daughters but that was 19 and 12 years ago.
I am sure you will be fun sweetie but I know us being pregnant so early, we will feel better once we hear a heartbeat.

I had symptoms on and off, mostly off, my whole pregnancy. It was weird and scary. I didn’t really feel pregnant until the bump arrived.. But everything was normal and I have a 3 year old now. Hope you’re the same.

@Wonderstruck: I bet you’ve never been so happy to puke 🙂 I hope the morning sickness passes quickly, and the funner symptoms (like big boobs) stick around to keep your nerves at bay.

Just wanted to check in to see how you were doing today. Hopefully, your pains were just gas pains and nothing else! Post an update if you can!
