Ok, heres the deal, to my surprise, I just found out I was pregnant. I am extremely early. I am getting married end of May and I am so afraid I will not fit in my gown. Is there anyone out there who can relate to this or simply assure me I will be just fine, and fit into my gown..lol Thanks

Well congrats!! That is exciting news! I know you’re worried about the dress fitting, and i’m assuming you’ll be around 3 months ish? It should’nt be anything TOO drastic and nothing a good seamstress couldn’t handle. Trust me it will all work out and I think it’s fabulous that you get to share this day with a wee one 🙂

I think you’ll fit into your gown just fine. 🙂 Usually people don’t start to show until later on in their pregnancy. Most of my family/friends haven’t really shown until 4 months or so. Congratulations. 🙂

Congratulations!!!!! I’m sooo happy for you!!!!! Do you know how far along you are? I don’t think it should matter if you are under 3-4 months by the wedding…if it is a little snug you might need to get it altered a tiny bit, but should be that much! Best of luck!! 🙂

You should still fit into your dress at about 3 months, but you may not be as comfortable in it as before depending on what style it is… I would stay away from anything too fitted around the tummy. Congratulations!

You’ll be fine as long as the dress isn’t super tight around the belly. (Even if it is, you might be ok.)
If you’re worried, you can always sell your dress and get another one off of the rack!

@sonj818:Thanks girls! I know this is such a random thing to throw out there and expect answers but I just wanted to hear others input.
SO, I would be 10 weeks, which is about 2 1/2 months. I am very petite as it is..I weigh 106 and 5 feet tall. My dress has already been altered and when I tell you it is form fitting..it is!!! My only advantage is, that its a tie up corset and not a zipper.
I called my dress shop today and spoke to them, they want me in for a couple more fittings when my final one was soppossed to be next week. I just hear that smaller girls show quicker and pop. I really really don’t want to buy another dress.
Thanks for all the support girls!

I have a friend about your size and at 4 months, you could definitely tell, but I don’t think you could tell at all at 3. Since then she’s looking big quickly because she’s so petite. I think 2 1/2 will be ok, but I understand the stress!

@webby: You’re 10 weeks pregnant now or will be at your wedding? Because if your wedding date on your profile is correct, it’s 11 weeks away, so I don’t understand how your pregnant now and will be 10 weeks pregnant on your wedding day. Not that it really matters, I’m just kind of confused.
Either way, you mentioned you had a corset back so that will definitely help with the dress fitting! Just tie it a little looser and you’re good to go 🙂

It really depends. I know some small girls who looked like they ate a big lunch, at nine months pregnant. I didn’t show until 4 1/2 months. The only person I knew who started showing at 10 weeks, had twins–and she was a bigger gal to begin with.

@Gingersnap:I am still confused myself, I just calculated again, I would be about 12 weeks when I get married. You have to forgive me, I have been a bit in panic mode last couple days. Like I had said, I am extremely early and I shouldn’t even be talking about it because it’s so early but I want to hear feedback. I am going to call my Dr and make an appointment to see him.
I am sure it will all work out, and they can just really tuck me in tightly into my dress. Thanks again guys.

@webby: Totally understandable! Your doctor will be able to pin down a more exact timeline for sure 🙂

Most people don’t gain much in the first 13 weeks.
I gained about 5 lbs (I was 115 5’6) BUT I had also been dieting for the wedding (we got pregnant RIGHT after) so I’m sure part of that was just gaining that weight back, also once I found out I made sure I wasn’t skipping any meals (sometimes I’d skip lunch when I was busy at work) so that made a differnce as well.

Everyone is different, but if it’s reassuring at all, I had no problems…I was just over 10 weeks on our wedding day. I’m normally about 135 lbs / 5’5″ (almost, ha ha) I’m usually a size 7/8 and my dress was very form fitting (Mikaella 1406) – I had already had it altered to have a corset back anyway so I had some wiggle room, but I didn’t need it! I was wearing all my regular clothes until week 26 (though I did need the Bella Band for my pants after about week 22!). Everyone shows differently and at different times, but I hear that if it’s your first you show later… anyway, I say you’ll be ok and don’t stress!! 🙂

I think you will be fine
I am 10 weeks right now and I have only gained 3.5lbs. They say that you ususally only gain 5lbs before week 14 and you don’t show until 4+ months.
I am not sure how far along she was ….but check out Mrs. Dumpling’s posts. She was pregnant when she got married and you couldn’t really tell. And I think she was further along than you would be. maybe 4-5 months.
So if you are going to be 12 weeks….you may have gained a few lbs, but not enough to tell at all. If your dress is really tight you may be to alter it to accomidate a few more lbs…but you certainly will not have a bump and will not be unable to fit your gown.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding AND on your upcoming baby 🙂
