@Evie19:  no! It’s so supportive! I actually sleep in mine. It feels like someone holding my belly up and together all day. It also helps my back, I’m thinking about getting another one bc I hate when it’s in the wash.

@Evie19:  it depends on what your purpose for wearing either is. The blanqi is a support thank mostly. It’s for your belly and back. The pregnancy spanx are nice but don’t appear to actually be all that supportive. They seem more like a vanity item (waning to smooth out bumps).

The blanqi has heavy duty support bands whereas the spanx look like panty hose without any bands. The blanqi is tight though! Would you be wearing it often or just for events? I’m comfortable in the tight fabric bc the support is worth it but you may feel too restricted?

Also how far along are you? Will you want something tight on in the summer?

I’m a big Spanx wearer normally so I knew I would want a maternity support garment.  I looked into the Spanx ones but they didn’t get great reviews.  I ended up with Assets tights for winter and a Belevation pettipant.  I like both of them a lot.  I feel like the Belevations were sized on the big side but I’m only 19 weeks so there’s room to grow into them.  I wore them to a semi formal event and paired them with a belly band for extra support.  I wear the Assets nearly every day with skirts and dresses and they are wonderful.

@Chrissy26:  I was just saying the other day that I need a bra for my belly when I’m running!  brilliant!

I’m commenting to placemark this thread. I’m a MOH in a wedding in june and as long as the bean sticks, I’ll be 24 weeks. I’ve been on the fence about whether to wear something like this, but I want to wait until I actually have a belly to make the call.

@Chrissy26:  I’m thinking the blanqi might be a good idea because my cousin the slave driver bride will likely have me up and on my feet for 12+ hours that day doing her bidding  helping with wedding related tasks. lol

Spanks during pregnancy sound like a form of torture no one should have to endure!

If you don’t need them until June or July I would def hold off on buying the spanx! Regardless of your size beforehand, bellies are typically very smooth and hard nearer to the end of pregnancy!

I’m going to wait until I have the belly and shape to decide if I need something like this under dresses, but since I do have a few weddings at 8 months, it’s a definitely possibility.

I wear mine almost every day and most nights (although at night it can get too tight). It’s also great to wear with pants you can’t button! I have dress pants that won’t button so this pulls down over them nicely.

@Evie19:  I wore a pair of non-maternity Spanx tights to work one day when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. WORST DAY OF MY LIFE. Granted, they weren’t maternity so they were probably pushing in all the wrong places, but the pressure they put on my bladder was miserable. As was yanking them up over my bloated belly. I would not do it again if you paid me a million bucks. 🙂
