I’m a regular poster but needed to go anonymous for this.
So 6 months ago I changed my birth control from my implanon to seasonal. In my first pill pack, I was on my period for the entire last 5 weeks. This pill pack I have had no break through bleeding at all and my sugar pills started Sunday and I haven’t even spotted. On Wednesday of last week, I started having a full kind of pressure in my low abdomen and uterus when I stretch out on my stomach or back to sleep. It has been constant. I have had a couple dizzy spells since then, and the last four days I have had to nap around 7, certain smells have made my slightly nauseous but I have not thrown up and I haven’t had any soreness in my breasts. Do you think I need to take a pregnancy test or should I wait it out until I have completely missed my period? And if I do wait, should I start my new pill pack without having a period? I’m so confused.

I would ask your doctor ASAP

I’d be in my car to Target right now. That sounds like more than a missed period, whether that’s pregnancy or some other sort of health thing going on, I’d want to POAS and know whether or not a baby is in the equation. Then tomorrow I’d get to the Dr. to figure out what the deal is (positive test or not).

I’ve felt this way before from BC. But it’s best to take a test and see your doctor to make sure everything is okay.

I’ve been meaning to get a pregnancy test but my Fiance and I are both currently unemployed and I haven’t been able to get away from him long enough to get one. I don’t want to preemptively tell him anything about this because he has bipolar anxiety issues and I don’t want to cause him unnecessary stress. Today we were at the grocery store and I was like, “I’m going to go buy some girly things and I will meet back up with you” and he was like “oh come on, I can buy tampons with you..” so yeah that went well..
I guess tomorrow I am just going to have to tell him. Advice?

I’d try to run out by yourself, but if that’s not possible, just tell him your body has been doing screwy things since you changed birth control methods and you want to take a test just to be sure nothing’s up before you call your doctor about the changes in your cycle. You could have a bug or something that’s making you feel run down, but pregnancy is a slight possibility, even with birth control.
If the test is negative, I would go see your doctor, just in case. Not to completely freak you out, but DH’s aunt just got diagnosed with ovarian cancer and “pressure” was one of her symptoms… Of course, that could be do to a ton of things, most of them not nearly as drastic… still, if you continue to feel this way, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
