I haven’t, but I feel like I could really use a massage lol.  Hopefully some other bees can fill us in 😉

My SIL had a prenatal massage towards the end of her second trimester/beginning of third and she said it was such a waste of money. They would only allow her to lay on her side and they basically just rubbed her down, didn’t feel like a real massage at all. Before getting KU I purchased a massage through group on. I figure I’ll use it towards a prenatal massage in the next few weeks. I’m hoping my experience is better, we’ll see!

I got a bunch of massages when I was pregnant, from several different places, and they pretty much all had me lay on each side and my back.  I never had one where you lay on your stomach.

eecuadrado:  Did the laying on my side one from Massage Envy with my last pregnancy.  It sucked to be honest.  They could not get deep enough to really help me with any pain/stiffness.  I would highly reccomend an Asian style massage parlor which has the chairs where you sit up and put your face in the tube like thing.  This allows them full access to  your back, shoulders, lower back, arms, etc.  without putting pressure on your stomach.  They also do WAY better foot massage/reflexology.

I also recently had a prenatal massage on my side.  I didn’t feel like the pressure was hard enough, but then again, I would’ve rolled off the table!  It felt nice, but I didn’t feel like all my knots were out.  It was my first time, so maybe it was just a gentle masseuse.  I’ll have to try it again.

Yay! I am SO glad I read this thread! I was considering getting one and now I don’t think I will. DH can rub me well enough anyway.

eecuadrado:  They also made me cry lol.  At 7 weeks pregnant my mom wanted me to go for a massage since she has a membership.  I decided on a hand and foot reflexology so that I wouldn’t have to worry about them not doing my back well.  I told them I was pregnant because you HAVE to, and then I said I wanted to lay on my back or stomach (I was 7 weeks…it’s FINE) and the massage tech told me that I would hurt my baby and he wouldn’t let me do it.  So I walked out and got my mom’s money back.  I am sure I was hormonal, but ugh!

eecuadrado:  I got one there with my last pregnancy (at about 7.5 months).  This is my 2nd one.  I did not get a massage this time because the tech made me upset.

Some of my massages were not great, they were too gentle, but others were wonderful.
