i am not pregnant and do not plan to get pregnant for a while (if ever) but my hair and nails are very weak. my nails bend VERY easy and peel. my hair was recently cut and i’m trying to grow it out for my wedding in 12 1/2 months. i heard that taking prenatal vitamins would help my nails and hair become stronger. have you found this to be true?

I’ve heard this as well. I can’t say for sure whether there’s truth to it because I’ve only been on prenatals for about a week. But I sure hope it’s true, my hair and nails need all the help they can get. I’ll be checking back because I’m eager to read others’ responses on this topic!

I defiantly think it’s helped my nails! Not a HUGE difference, bu they are stronger now and don’t break as easily.

from what I’ve seen (I did some basic research the other day on this) Vitamins A, C, and Biotin help out. I just started taking biotin in addition to my normal multi-vitamin. I’ll be switching pretty soon to prenatals, but not TTC or NTNT quite yet so I’ll just use up the rest of my one a days

You can also take Vitamin E. Taking that helped me before I started taking prenatals. You don’t want to haev the effecxts that iron does on you if you are not trying to get pregnant ever, in my opinion.

My gyno recommended starting prenatals even if I’m not planning on TTC for a couple of years. She said that it would be great for hair/nails and also make sure that I have adequate folic acid for whenever I do get pg!
