Okay, So in TWO weeks BabyFlipflops will finally be here! eeek! This pregnancy has been anything but easy and I am SO happy to see an end in sight. I've been seeing my regular OB twice a week, doing NST's twice a week and also doing weekly ultrasounds. On top of that I go to a Perinatologist who is an hour away who does weekly ultrasounds at her office. ALL this with a toddler! My family has been extremely supportive. When my husband can't take off work, my mom will and when she can't my dad will. All 3 of them have VERY demanding jobs and each of them take at least 1 day a week off to be able to accomidate all my appointments. Did I even mention my parents live an hour away from my husband and I? I have to admit I feel very blessed.

I know that usually the mother is the one who receives the gifts in the hospital but I really want to give those 3 something special from just me and the baby. I am SO stuck on what to get. I want it to be special and senitmental but I have no clue on what to possibly look for. Especially for my husband and my father. What do you get men at a birth? And for my mom? Any ideas would be wonderful!!!

It sounds like they've been very awesome, but don't forget that you are giving them the ULTIMATE gift... a BABY!  I'm thinking that a really heartfelt letter or card might do the trick.  If you feel like you really need to do something more, then maybe a gift card to a favorite restaurant for your parents?

What an amazing support system you have and it's really sweet that you want to show your appreciation!

I like Tiramisu's idea of a heartfelt letter. What about incorporating a letter or some nice words of thanks into some kind of a keepsake frame, box, brag book, or photo book for your parents?

Not a thing comes to mind for men... for my husband I'd consider doing something for him prior to our due date. While I've never experienced being nearly 9mos pregnant (so disregard if its unrealistic) maybe treating him to a last special date night together whether out or at home where you could take him to his fav restaurant, make or order his favorite dish, and basically just spoil him for a little while to show how greatful you are for all his love and support?

Good luck in your last two weeks!

@octobermom:  That's actually what I did for my mom for Christmas- I did one of their "simple" designs, with one charm for me, one for my sister, and the promise of one more in April for the new grandson. She seems to like it :)

I gave my parents and husband's parents each a picture frame with her hospital photo in it. That's really all they wanted to show to all their neighbors, friends, coworkers and strangers lol.

It was easy to put together, it made everyone happy.

I agree that husbands are really hard to shop for in this regard- I've also been looking for a sort of "push present" for mine! (...and have yet to come up with something. boo.) But for Christmas I got my husband kind of a packet of stuff relating to activities he's excited about doing with his kid one day- I contacted his old college Ultimate Frisbee team and got a disc with their logo on it and I made a onesie with teh logo, I got all the "They Might Be Giants" childrens' albums which are great if your DH is a nerd like mine, and a big set of Legos.
